摘要: An ink-jet head includes pressure chambers arranged in a row in a row-direction, and a manifold flow passage communicated with the pressure chambers and extending in the row-direction. An ink inflow port is formed at one end of the manifold flow passage. The manifold flow passage has a main portion, a connecting portion, and an extended portion which are arranged in this order from a side close to the ink inflow port. The manifold flow passage is communicated with the pressure chambers at the main portion. The main portion has a constant cross-sectional area greater than that of the connecting portion. A cross-sectional area of the extended portion is greater than that of the connecting portion. The pressure wave, generated in the pressure chamber and propagated to the manifold flow passage, can be efficiently attenuated by the manifold flow passage constructed as described above.

摘要: A liquid-droplet jetting apparatus includes a pressure-applying mechanism and a channel unit. The channel unit has a stacked body made of a plurality of metal plates. A plurality of pressure chambers arranged in a row in one direction, a plurality of manifolds which are arranged to be mutually adjacent and which extend in the one direction, and a plurality of communication channels each communicating one of the pressure chambers with one of the manifolds are formed in the stacked body. Here, the communication channels have channel resistances which are same. It is possible to divide the manifold into a plurality of divided manifold portions, and the construction of the channel unit as a whole can be made compact while suppressing the variation in jetting characteristic, thereby making the size of the liquid-droplet jetting apparatus to be small.

摘要: An apparatus is provided for ejecting liquid drops while eliminating a special sensor (a photosensor) and improve detection accuracy for abnormal ink drop ejection. When the detecting an abnormal ink drop ejection, a drive circuit outputs an actuator-driving voltage in addition to an original drive voltage with a contact of a changeover switch located in a first position. The original drive voltage causes the electrostatic actuator to be driven. Thus, the vibrating plate is vibrated, whereby ink drops are ejected. Thereafter, the electrostatic actuator is charged with a charge according to the actuator-driving voltage. The charging voltage corresponds to the residual vibration of the vibrating plate. Then, the contact of the changeover switch is switched to a residual vibration-detecting circuit. Thus, the residual vibration-detecting circuit is supplied with the charging voltage to thereby output a residual vibration waveform.

摘要: When all frames, which are used for reference, are stored, vector retrieval means 13 find correlation with a reference frame. Compression type determination means 14 compare a predictive error of the found vector position and an average deviation within the frame, and select the compression type with high compression efficiency. Compression mode determination means 15 select anyone of the compression process at the time of the high-speed mode and the compression process at the time of the normal mode based on the compression type. In the compression process at the time of the high-speed mode, for the macro block the difference between it and the predictive block is not taken in motion predictive means 16, it is converted into a frequency component in frequency conversion means 17, is quantized in quantization means 18, and is coded by the compression in variable-length coding means 23 to output the compression code from output means 24.

摘要: A high-speed motion retrieval device is provided that certainly unerring motion vector at high speed. The first-stage motion retrieval means 12 retrieves a retrieval range determined by referring to the retrieval result in the previous frame. If a minimum predictive error is smaller than a threshold value, the motion retrieval process is ended at the time the retrieval range has been retrieved. If the minimum predictive error is larger than the threshold value, the second-stage motion retrieval means 13 retrieves the region which has not been retrieved through the first-stage motion retrieval within a predetermined retrieval range, thus obtaining the location with a minimum predictive error. Thus, the retrieval is divided into two steps. Motion vectors can be retrieved with small error detection and at high speed by suitably changing the first-stage retrieval range.

摘要: In a moving picture encoding method and a moving picture encoding apparatus of the present invention, after calculating an absolute value of a difference for every corresponding pixel data between continuous two frames, an interframe difference calculation means 13 calculates an average value per frame and an average value per scene of the absolute value of the difference, and a scene change determination means 14 determines that a scene change has occurred, when the average value per frame is more than or equal to a predetermined number times as large as the average value per scene, and in case that the scene change is detected by the scene change determination means 14, a frame type change means 15 changes a frame type so that interframe predictive coding is not conducted.
