摘要: A biological condition evaluation apparatus determines a symptom of a heart abnormality based on at least one index calculated from a heartbeat interval and/or a pulse interval. The apparatus determines whether it is in a referential period where an amount of change in the index is comparatively small. The apparatus determines whether a plurality of conditions are satisfied or not in an evaluation period set after the referential period. One condition is that an amount of change in the index in the evaluation period is greater than that observed during the referential period. Another condition is that a rate of change in the index is equal to or greater than a predetermined threshold value. The apparatus determines that there is a symptom of a heart abnormality, when both the conditions are satisfied.

摘要: A clean bench comprising a worktable on which polycrystalline silicon is placed, a box part which includes side plates to surround three sides except a front face of a working space above the worktable, and a ceiling plate which covers an upper side of the working space. Supplying holes are formed in the ceiling plate of the box part, which supply clean air onto an upper surface of the worktable. An ionizer is provided, which ionizes the clean air supplied from the supplying holes to the working space and removes static electricity on the worktable. Suction holes are formed in the side plate of the box part, which suction air from the working space.

摘要: A method of washing polycrystalline silicon is provided. The method includes a step of acid cleaning in which the polycrystalline silicon is cleaned with an acid solution and a step of a water cleaning in which the polycrystalline silicon is cleaned by pure water after the step of acid cleaning. In the step of water cleaning, residual acid solution on the surface of the polycrystalline silicon is removed by immersing the polycrystalline silicon in pure water held in a water cleaning bath, and replacing the pure water in the water cleaning bath at least once. The electrical conductivity (C) of the pure water in the water cleaning bath is measured. Based on the reading of the electrical conductivity (C), the timing for finishing the step of water cleaning is decided.

摘要: Provided is a method for driving a surface emitting semiconductor laser including an active region that generates light, a resonator structure disposed such that it sandwiches the active region, and a driving electrode that provides power to the active region. The surface emitting semiconductor laser has an internal resistance defined by voltage and current applied to the driving electrode. The method includes applying a modulation signal to the driving electrode, in which the modulation signal has a current amplitude defined by a first current value and a second current value that is greater than the first current value. The modulation signal is in a negative gradient region in which the internal resistance decreases in contrast to the increase of the current.

摘要: An LED illumination device 1 for vehicle use includes an LED lamp 10, a circuit 5 for supplying a current to the LED lamp from a power supply mounted on the vehicle, and a current control unit 7 for controlling the current supplied to the LED lamp 10 so as to be inversely proportional to the environmental temperature of the LED lamp 10. In this manner, in the current supply circuit, an LED chip 11 is coupled to the collector of a common-emitter type transistor 15. The current control unit includes a PTC thermistor 21 and the PTC thermistor 21 is coupled to the base of the transistor 15, whereby a current supplied to the base is made small when the temperature of the PTC thermistor 21 becomes high. The PTC thermistor 21 is placed in a circumstance where the temperature thereof becomes same as the environmental temperature of the LED chip 11 at the time where the LED chip 11 is in an OFF state.

摘要: In a portable biological information monitor apparatus, a pulse wave detection signal obtained by light emission from a green LED and a body motion detection signal obtained by light emission from an infrared LED are detected as biological information. This biological information is analyzed to compute various barometers. In a wake normal mode of a set generation mode, body motion and pulse are calculated as wake evaluation barometers for evaluation of a test subject's status in wake. In a wake steady state motion mode, body motion, pulse, and pitch are calculated as motion evaluation barometers for evaluation of the test subject's status in steady state motion. In a sleep mode, body motion, pulse, and autonomic nervous function are calculated as sleep evaluation barometers for evaluation of the test subject's status in sleep. Necessary barometers are thereby generated regardless of the test subject's action using the portable monitor apparatus alone.

摘要: A pulse wave sensor main unit is provided with a pair of band anchoring portions that are positioned in the direction of the circumference of the wrist and through which the band is passed. Strip-shaped band insertion holes are formed in the band anchoring portions. The band is an elastic long strip-shaped body. The band is formed of material such as rubber that is flexibly deformed when external force is applied and is restored to its original shape by its own elasticity when external force is removed. The band is so set that its thickness is larger than the dimension of the shorter sides of the band insertion holes and its width is larger than the dimension of the longer sides of the band insertion holes.
