A process for fabricating thin multi-layer circuit boards which allow the electrical conduction of remodeling pads to be easily cut do not use etching for gold, avoid the lift-off method for forming a thin chromium film on the wiring pattern layer, allow a defective wiring pattern layer to be removed, and which uses uniform heating of the substrate, from the back side thereof, at the time of pre-baking. Alternatively, gold-plating resist is formed in order to avoid the etching for gold (FIGS. 17 to 19). Alternatively, a thin chromium film is formed in advance by etching on the wiring pattern layer (FIGS. 27 to 33). Alternatively, a metallic barrier film (122) is formed on each of the wiring pattern layers so that the wiring pattern layer can be removed without affecting other wiring pattern layers (FIGS. 36 to 42). An error detection apparatus for use with an image forming apparatus prevents damage to the image forming apparatus that results from toner sensor error. The image forming apparatus includes a developer housing positioned opposite to a photosensitive body; a toner box for supplying monocomponent toner to the developer housing; a developer roller for developing an electrostatic latent image on the photosensitive body in the developer housing; a toner transport and supply member for transporting and supplying the monocomponent toner to the developing roller; and a toner sensor for detecting either the presence or the absence of the monocomponent toner in at least one of the developer housing and the toner box. The error detection apparatus includes a first counter for counting the number of either prints or image signals while a toner-present signal is being detected continuously from the toner sensor; a second counter for counting the number of either prints or image signals while a toner-absent signal is being detected continuously from the toner sensor; and a display and stopping unit for stopping the operation of the image forming apparatus and displaying an error indication concurrently if the sum of the values counted by the first and the second counter has exceeded a predetermined value.

Supported catalysts for hydrotreating hydrocarbons comprise (a) at least one member selected from the group consisting of oxides of metals in Groups IV and VIII of the Periodic Table, and (b) at least one organic compound having a mercapto radical or radicals (--SH) selected from the group consisting of mercapto-carboxylic acids, including alkali metal, alkaline earth metal and ammonium salts thereof and esters thereof, bivalent mercaptans, amino-substituted mercaptans, and thiocarboxylic acids. These catalysts can be easily activated by treatment in the presence of hydrogen gas at a temperature in the range from room temperature to 400.degree. C. show higher activity than catalysts activated by conventional methods.
