摘要： In an image processing apparatus, first peak density pixels of one dimension each having a peak density in one-dimension direction larger than a predetermined density are detected from image data located in a predetermined image area of a document image, and second peak density pixels of two dimensions each having peak densities in two-dimension directions larger than the predetermined density are detected from the image data. Further, there are counted a number of the detected first peak density pixels of one dimension and a number of the detected second peak density pixels of two dimensions, and then, it is judged whether or not the image data located in the predetermined image area are image data of a dot photograph image, a photograph image or a character image based on the counted numbers.

摘要： A film splicing apparatus for sorting a plurality of photographic films according to a user's ordering instructions which have been recorded on an envelope or the photographic films and for splicing the sorted photographic films so as to form them into a shape of a roll. A photographic film, which has been pulled from a film cartridge, is conveyed along a predetermined conveying path. The leading end of the photographic film is placed in a standby state at a splicing position. On the other hand, the user's ordering instructions are read and a magazine corresponding to the read ordering instructions is selected. The rear end of a roll of photographic film, which has already been accommodated in the magazine, is conveyed to the splicing position. The leading end of the photographic film, which has been placed in the standby state at the splicing position, is spliced to the rear end of the roll of photographic film. A photographic film sorting process and a film splicing process can be automatically carried out. It is therefore unnecessary for an operator to manually sort the photographic films and hence the efficiency of work can be improved.

摘要： Disclosed are a papermaking method comprising the steps of sheet-formation of an aqueous papermaking stock which contains a cellulose fiber or the said fiber and an inorganic filler, dewatering and drying, charaacterized by the addition of a starch ether derivative of a general formula (I): ##STR1## where St--O represents a starch molecule residue, R.sub.1, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 independently represent an alkyl group having from 1 to 18 carbon atoms or a benzyl group, provided that two or more of these R.sub.1, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 must not be a benzyl group or an alkyl group having from 5 to 18 carbon atoms at the same time, and any two of these R.sub.1, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 may be bonded to form a cyclic structure, the said derivative containing the ether bond preferably in a degree of substitution of from 0.01 from 0.1, to the said papermaking stock in an amount of from 0.05 to 5.0% by weight of the cellulose fiber or the total of the said fiber and the inorganic filler in the said stock, as well as the said starch ether derivative of the formula (I) and a method for preparation of the said derivative.
