    摘要: A method for treating an olefin polymer, which comprises contacting an olefin polymer obtained by polymerizing an olefin in the presence of a catalyst composed of (A) a highly active transition metal compound, (B) an organoaluminum compound and (C) a carbonyl- or Si-containing electron donor, with (D) an organometallic compound of a metal of Groups I to III of the periodic table after the polymerization. This method can markedly reduce the amount of an electron donor remaining in an olefin polymer after polymerization, the electron donor being an ingredient of a catalyst used in the polymerization and constituting the main cause of an offensive odor which the resulting polymer gives off.

    摘要: A process for producing an ethylene copolymer having a density of from 0.900 to 0.945 g/cm.sup.3 by copolymerizing in two steps a predominant amount of ethylene with a minor amount of an alpha-olefin containing at least 3 carbon atoms at room temperature to not more than about 100.degree. C. under a pressure of about 1 to about 100 kg/cm.sup.2 in the presence of a catalyst composed of (A) a titanium catalyst component supported on a magnesium compound and (B) an organoaluminum compound; characterized in that said copolymerization is carried out in(i) a first step where about 0.01 to about 50 g, per gram of the titanium catalyst component (A), of the alpha-olefin containing at least 3 carbon atoms is polymerized, said catalyst further comprising an organic acid ester (C), and then(ii) a second step where the final product of ethylene copolymer is formed in an amount more than about 100 times the weight of the polymer formed in the first step.

    摘要: Highly stereoregular polymers or copolymers of .alpha.-olefins containing at least 3 carbon atoms are prepared in high yields by polymerizing or copolymerizing the .alpha.-olefins in the presence of a catalyst composed of (a) an improved solid transition metal catalyst component prepared by reacting (1) a magnesium-containing reaction product derived from a member of the group consisting of (i) a magnesium halide, (ii) an active hydrogen-containing compound, (iii) an organic acid ester and (iv) a silicon or tin compound containing at least one halogen atom or hydrocarbon group bonded directly to silicon or tin with (2) a titanium compound, and (b) an organometallic compound of a metal selected from aluminum, magnesium and zinc.
