Abstract:
A magnetic separator for a central heating system comprises a housing, a separation chamber within the housing, and inlet and outlet ports extending from the housing. The inlet and outlet ports include push-fit connectors having collets surrounding the mouth of each of the inlet and outlet for releasing the connectors. The magnetic separator also has a release tool. The release tool has first and second bearing areas for bearing against the collets of the inlet and outlet connectors, and a handle region for enabling force to be applied, via the bearing areas, to both connectors simultaneously.
Abstract:
A method for separating overspray from the cabin exhaust air of coating systems, in particular of painting systems, which is laden with overspray, the overspray is taken up by an air flow and conveyed to an electrostatically operating separating device. There, the bulk at least of the solids is separated from the overspray at at least one separating surface. An electrically conductive material or material mixture is used as a separating agent, which is applied to the at least one separating surface of the separating device and at the operating temperature of the separating device has a wax-like consistency. Also a separating device with such a wax-like material and a system for coating articles.
Abstract:
A separator device for removing particles from suspension in a liquid includes a housing having first and second chambers with apertures for ingress and egress of liquid into the first chamber. Means are provided for setting up a swirl of liquid within the first chamber. Apertures enable flow of liquid between the first chamber and the second chamber. Means are also provided for setting up a swirl of liquid within the second chamber. The swirl in the second chamber is in substantially the opposite direction to the swirl in the first chamber, and there is no substantial flow in the second chamber which is in the same direction as the swirl in the first chamber.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for removing metallic material from a circulating well fluid stream provides a treatment vessel that is divided into first and second sections. Each of the sections includes a magnetic field that can be in the form of one or more magnets. In one embodiment, multiple magnets are provided in each of the sections. Manifolds attach to an influent and to an effluent of the treatment vessel. Each manifold enables selective transfer of fluid to either of the selected sections. Similarly, discharge of circulating fluid can be from either of the sections via a discharge manifold. The treatment vessel enables continuous treatment by valving fluid flow so that only one section need be used at a time in order that the other section could be serviced for removing collected metallic material from the magnetic field or from the magnets.
Abstract:
A magnetic particle separator (10) suitable for separating magnetic and non-magnetic particles from a thermal fluid flowing in a heating system. The magnetic particle separator (10) comprises a hollow body (10A, 10B) configured with an upper particle separation chamber (11) and for circulation of the thermal fluid between an inlet and an outlet port (12, 13), and a quieting chamber (15) beneath the particle separation chamber (11) for accumulation of the particles separated from the fluid: an annular support element (21) for permanent magnets (18) being removably fastened outside the quieting chamber (15) of the separator (10).
Abstract:
A magnetic separator comprising a vibratory conveyor for vibratorily flowing non-ferrous articles and articles containing ferrous material within the magnetic field of a transverse extending magnet to magnetically capture the articles containing the ferrous material while allowing the non-ferrous articles to flow therepast. The magnet is periodically retractable to remove ferrous articles magnetically adhered thereto. The use of a set of transverse extending magnets enables a continuous on-the-go separation of articles containing ferrous material from non-ferrous articles without having to shut down the vibratory conveyor.
Abstract:
A separator (10) comprises a housing (12) and a separator chamber (14) contained within the housing (12), an inlet (16) and outlet (18) to the separator chamber and a dividing member (20) for substantially dividing the separator chamber (14) into a first chamber (22) and a second chamber (24). A flow path is provided between the first and second chambers (22), (24) for allowing flow to circulate between the first and second chambers, and obstruction means (74) is provided in the second chamber (24) for slowing flow through the second chamber (24).
Abstract:
A magnetic screen assembly (13). The assembly (13) is to be located in a duct (10) to screen a flowable substance passing in a direction (11). The assembly (13) has a screening position (A) so that the substance passes through the screen, and a cleaning position (B) at which the screen assembly (13) is spaced outwardly relative to the housing (12) to facilitate cleaning of the assembly (13).
Abstract:
Methods and systems for charging fiber webs, including those suitable for use as filter media, are provided. In some embodiments, the methods provided herein involve charging a fiber web by passing a substance through the web under suitable conditions to produce a charged article. The substance may be, for example, a substantially non-polar liquid or gas, a compressed fluid, and/or a supercritical fluid (e.g., carbon dioxide). In some embodiments, the method of charging includes releasing the substance from a container, passing the substance through the fiber web, and, optionally, drawing the substance into a vacuum apparatus after it passes through the fiber web.
Abstract:
An electro-kinetic or electro-static apparatus for moving fluid includes an enlogated electrode energizable with respect to at least one other electrode to generate ions and thereby motivate fluid flow there between. A cleaning device is positioned to frictionally engage at least two opposing surfaces of the elongated electrode. The cleaning device is movable along a length of the elongated electrode to thereby remove detrimental material from the at least two opposing surfaces of the elongated electrode. The cleaning device can be substantially off-center relative to the elongated electrode to frictionally bind upon the elongated electrode during movement of the cleaning device.
