摘要: The invention discloses an improved die assembly for the extrusion of thermoplastic resin cellulosic fiber composite profiles meant to minimize and substantially prevent the occurrence of melt fracture on the surface of the extruded composite profiles. Comprising the die assembly are a balanced flow passage having a heated compression zone, a heated transition zone, a heated converging die zone, a die land, which corresponds to at least a portion of the downstream end of the flow passage and is cooled to temperature below the melting point temperature of the thermoplastic resin. The invention also discloses a production process for composite profiles which includes the steps of providing resin and fiber, producing a composite compound, processing the compound through an extrusion system, extruding the compound through the die assembly to form the desired profile, cooling the profile and cutting it to length. Also disclosed are products produced by the production process.

摘要: The invention relates to a cooled calibrating device for a plastic extrusion facility, comprising a housing (5) receiving a cooling liquid (2) and calibrating guides (6) through which a plastic profile (1) is passed, in addition to inlet and outlet holes (10, 23) having attached lines for the cooling liquid, wherein an area (21) free of liquid and filled with air remains above the level of the cooling liquid. An outlet hole (10) for the cooling liquid is arranged at the height of the cooling liquid level (20) in the calibrating device so that the cooling liquid can flow out without an additional pump. An outlet line (11) attached to the outlet hole extends vertically and ends in a cooling liquid reservoir (12) that is subjected to an external atmosphere, wherein a compact liquid column (24) is formed in the outlet line (11).

The calibration orifice (38) is provided with at least one continuous circulation passage (67) around a predominant part of and immediately adjacent to its circumference, having a separate inlet and outlet line (68, 69). The circulation passage (67) extends across a predominant distance of a thickness between the end faces (43) of the calibration unit (31), the circulation passage (67) being closed in the region of the two end faces (43).

摘要: There is provided a plastic extrusion sizing tube having a cylinder with a split along its length to allow for radial expansion and reduction of the sizing tube. The cylinder has holes to allow an extrusion within the cylinder to be drawn to the cylinder by a vacuum outside the cylinder. The cylinder also has extensions on opposite sides of the split with an adjustment screw connecting the extensions. The diameter of the cylinder can be expanded or reduced when the adjustment screw is turned in respective directions. A set screw can be connected to one of the extensions. The diameter of the cylinder can be expanded or reduced when the set screw is turned in respective directions. The diameter of the cylinder can be locked in a desired position when the adjustment screw and the set screw are turned in the same direction. The adjustment screw and the set screw can be located in a flange at one end of the cylinder. The holes in the cylinder can be slots.

摘要: A manufacturing apparatus and method for multiple containment tubing produces continuous, nested tubing, or one tube within another tube, without having to fix the space between the tubes or position them concentrically. Consequently the tubing is very flexible and with uniform wall thickness. Moreover, because the inner surface of the outer tube and the outer surface of the inner tube are ribless, these kinds of features cannot interfere with the bending and twisting and the operation of the tubes comprising the tubing. The space between the tubes, or free space, has sufficient volume to contain a range of contents of the inner tube, as a safety containment device, if the inner tube ruptures, cracks, or otherwise breaks.
