    摘要: The present invention provides a flexible high-density fiberboard which is essentially free of formaldehyde and isocyanates and comprises 70 to 90% by weight of straw fibers, and 30 to 10% by weight of a thermoplastic elastomer and one or more optional additive(s). Furthermore, the present invention provides a method for manufacturing such a flexible high-density fiberboard comprising the steps of providing straw fibers, providing a thermoplastic elastomer in powder form, optionally providing one or more additive(s), dry mixing the straw fibers, the thermoplastic elastomer powder and optionally the one or more additive(s), such that a mixture comprising 70 to 90% by weight of the straw fibers, and 30 to 10% by weight of the thermoplastic elastomer and one or more of the optional additive(s) is obtained, extruding the obtained mixture at a temperature such that the thermoplastic elastomer powder is in a molten state, and pressing the extruded mixture.

    摘要: Unexpectedly unique and environmentally friendly composite material structures, storage articles fabricated therefrom, and related methods. The composite structure includes at least one or more fiber-containing layers, such as fiberboard or other layers having fibers from natural and/or synthetic sources, and one or more mineral-containing layers. The mineral-containing layer(s) comprises a thermoplastic bonding agent fixing the mineral particles in place. The fiber-containing layer(s) and mineral-containing layer(s) can be shaped, sized, and manufactured such that the composite structure formed therefrom is capable of being machined to form the storage article. The composite structure can be repulped and recycled without the use of dispersions, emulsions, or aqueous solutions. Further, the composite reduces layer mass requirements for heat seal, barrier, and fiber adhesion compared to polymer layers. The composite structure further has tensile strength and other structural characteristics that allow it to be readily machined into desired storage article forms.

    摘要: The invention relates to a method for making a dimensionally stable wood-thermoplastic composite material composed of a wood component and a thermoplastic component comprising the steps of forming a wood-thermoplastic mass at a temperature above the melting temperature of the thermoplastic component. The mass is then passed through a converging die to form a shaped extrudate profile having a cross sectional shape wherein at least a part of the converging die is maintained at a substantially higher temperature than that of the mass. The profile is then fed through a low friction thermally insulating land section, the land section having the substantially the same cross sectional shape as the exit end of the converging die. The profile is then quenched in a non-oxidizing environment to form a substantially dimensionally stable outer shell around the profile, the shell having a temperature below the melting temperature of the thermoplastic component. The invention also relates to a die assembly for making a wood-thermoplastic composite material.
