Abstract:
The present invention provides a system for powered control of a window in a recreational vehicle. A bi-directional motor is positioned near the window to be controlled. The motor is coupled to the control for the window. The motor may be coupled through a belt and pulley system to the existing control knob or its shaft. The motor is controlled with a switch or a remote control.
Abstract:
An opening and closing control apparatus includes an automatic sliding door controller that controls a drive of an opening and closing driving mechanism. The automatic sliding door controller determines whether a request is a manual operating request or an automatic operating request on the basis of a signal from a press switch that is switched on by a press-on operation. In the case of the automatic operating request, the automatic sliding door controller is configured so that an automatic opening and closing determination process determines whether a request is an opening operating request or a closing operating request based on the detection of door state detection section, and an opening and closing process is then executed by operating the opening and closing driving mechanism based on the determination.
Abstract:
A motorized operator for opening and closing a window sash relative to a window frame via an arm mechanism connected to the window frame and being adapted to be installed in a cavity defined in the window frame. The operator comprises a motor, a drive axle rotated by the motor, and first and second gears in meshed engagement. The first gear is mounted on the drive axle, while the second gear is mounted to the arm mechanism such that motorized rotation of the first gear rotatably drives the second gear thereby causing the arm mechanism to pivot for opening and closing the window sash. A manual operator is adapted to disengage the first and second gears from one another while becoming engaged to the second gear for manually rotating the second gear and so manually operate the arm mechanism. The manual operator comprises a handle and a manual actuator which includes a sprocket. The manual actuator is engageable on the drive axle for selectively displacing the first gear along the drive axle and cause the latter to disengage from the second gear while the sprocket of the manual actuator becomes engaged to the second gear, whereby a rotation of the manual actuator by way of the handle causes rotation of the sprocket and of the second gear and thus also a pivot of the arm mechanism.
Abstract:
A door operator and related method of setting custom limits on movable barrier travel, includes a motor for moving the movable barrier between two travel limit positions, an operator for controlling operation of the motor, and a disconnect system coupled between the motor and the operator. The disconnect system is switchable between a connected position and a disconnected position, wherein the motor can engage the operator only when the disconnect system is in the connected position. The operator is connected to a potentiometer for ascertaining movable barrier position, regardless of the position of the disconnect system, and provides position information to the operator. A travel limit is set by placing the disconnect system in the disconnected position and manually moving the door to a desired position whereupon the disconnect system is moved to the connected position so that the operator can detect a positional location to be designated as one of the travel limits. An installation switch may be connected to the operator, wherein the operator determines a custom lower limit or a custom upper limit from the desired position as detected by the potentiometer, wherein actuation of the installation switch establishes the custom limit. An up/down switch may also be connected to the operator. Actuation of the up/down switch during setting of the operational profile and after setting of the custom lower limit sets a custom upper limit.
Abstract:
A auxiliary vehicular window recessing system for providing a secondary means of recessing the electrically-controlled windows of a vehicle in the event of submergence in a body of water. The auxiliary vehicular window recessing system includes a secondary motor for moving the window of the vehicle. A secondary gear member driven by the secondary motor is engaged with the main drive gear such that rotary motion of the secondary gear member biases the primary window drive system thereby recessing the window when the secondary motor is activated. An auxiliary, waterproof battery provides power, while a sealed fuse electrically protects the secondary motor. Optionally or in conjunction, a manual crank apparatus engages the primary window drive system for manually recessing the window.
Abstract:
This sliding sash drive assembly includes a rack gear for the sash and a drive unit adapted to be mounted on the window frame and having a driven spur gear. An L-shaped engagement lever is mounted at its vertex on the housing and carries on its short leg a rack guide adapted to embrace the rack gear so that, as the long leg of the lever is moved, the guide moves the rack to a position at which the rack meshes with the spur.
Abstract:
A mechanism for controlling the raising and lowering of a door comprising a speed reduction gearing, a high speed input shaft and a low speed output shaft connected to the gearing, and a governor mounted on the input shaft for regulating the input shaft's rotational speed. More particularly, the mechanism is provided with a brake having a movable brake shoe, a temperature sensitive link and an elongate member having a central portion coupled to the brake shoe. As well, the first portion of the elongate member is engageable with the temperature sensitive element and a second portion of the elongate member is engageable with the actuator. In this way, the elongate member is provided for moving the brake shoe to the release position in response to one of (1) the temperature sensitive link upon the temperature reaching a predetermined temperature and (2) the actuator.
Abstract:
Rotary locks used on transit vehicle doors when opened and closed by a rotating helical door drive member. In a preferred embodiment, a first lock utilizes a negative thread portion of the helical drive. A second lock utilizes a rotating lock pawl and stop. The drive and lock can be used to operate door systems with and without separate door hangers. Compensation for camber variations in car structure is provided through the use of spherical mounts or drive member journals.
Abstract:
An apparatus adaptable to a trash bin, the bin being of the type having four side walls, and a swinging door panel on the upper portion of one of the side walls, for allowing the panel to be manually opened and a tray to be slid within the opening and food or trash allowed to be dumped from the tray into a trash can contained within the bin. The apparatus would comprise a foot pedal hingedly secured to the interior wall of the bin, and an opening above the foot pedal so that one may have access to the foot pedal with one's foot, a line running from the front face of the foot pedal upward and interconnecting the interior face of the door panel; and a pulley secured to the side wall of the bin, so that the line runs over the pulley, in such a fashion when one places force downward on the foot pedal, the line is retracted so that the door panel is swung into the opening within the container, thus giving access to the container through the opening formed by the opened panel. Upon removal of one's foot from the pedal, the door would simply be returned back to the closed position for sealing off the opening in the container.
Abstract:
A cabinet structure having an improved user-mountable foot pedal-operated door opener. The pivot rod of the door opener may be mounted by the user to brackets previously mounted to the cabinet by the manufacturer, permitting completed installation of the door opener by the user without the need for tools. In one form, the door opener acts against a slide plate carried on the lower edge portion of the door of the cabinet, and in another form, a roller is provided on the pivot rod for directly engaging the door lower edge portion. The pivot rod may be readily removed from the cabinet construction, when desired, such as during subsequent shipment of the cabinet structure.
