Abstract:
A high precision fast finite impulse response (FIR) filter which periodically samples an analog input signal and holds a sequentially-replaced number of the resulting discrete-time analog values in fixed storage cells while each value is being multiplied by a number of digital weights. The discrete-time analog values are not passed through delay devices and therefore do not degrade. The weights are stored in a memory or shift register and supplied to the multipliers in a repeating sequence. A predetermined number of the weights are set to zero to increase the setup time of the analog multipliers thereby increasing the precision without slowing the clocking frequency.
Abstract:
In an apparatus having a CCD for compressing and/or expanding the time base of an input signal; a first two-phase transfer clock pulse signal made up of first and second pulse train signals having a first period and arranged to be 180.degree. out of phase with each other is used for driving the CCD while writing the input signal into the CCD, a second two-phase transfer clock pulse signal made up of third and fourth pulse train signals having a second period and arranged to be 180.degree. out of phase with each other is used for driving the CCD while reading from the CCD a signal which is produced from the input signal with its time base compressed or expanded, and the pulse width of the first pulse train signal is made virtually equal to the pulse width of the third pulse train signal and such pulse width is selected to be smaller than one-half of the smaller of the first and second periods.

The invention provides a method of forming electrodes aligned with respect to an implantation level in a substrate, including the following main phases:formation of a dielectric layer on a substrate;formation of semiconducting or conducting elements which are to serve as mask for implantation;implantation;formation of a layer of conducting or semiconducting material;cutting out electrodes from said layer and from the semiconducting or conducting elements.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a charge-coupled device, in which the channel is provided with two or more separation regions for obtaining a desired charge subdivision, for example, for a transversal filter. Due to asymmetry in the potential distribution between the outer subchannels and the central subchannels, an inaccuracy occurs in the charge distribution, which according to the invention is eliminated for the major part by locally providing the separation channels bounding the outer subchannels with an interruption.
Abstract:
A sampled data filter used in a television automatic ghost cancellation system employs a single chain of cascaded delay elements and a crossbar switch matrix to implement the several different delayed sequences of samples that are used by the system to cancel several ghost signals. The rows of switch elements in the crossbar switch matrix are coupled to the individual delay elements, and the columns of the matrix are coupled to sample scaling circuitry. The scaled samples are summed to develop a psuedo-ghost signal which is combined with the input signal to cancel the ghost signal components.

Abstract:
The device comprises a capacitor, first means for taking into account, in logic form, the potential of the capacitor, second means which, in a first time, fixes the potential of the capacitor to a given value, third means which, in a second time, modify or do not modify the potential of the capacitor, depending on whether or not the charge quantity to be detected is present or absent, and fourth means which, in a third time, reloop the output of the first means to the input of the first means, the output of the first means constituting the output of the detection and storage device.Application to digitally programmable filters.
Abstract:
A charge transfer device (CTD) delay line comb filter for separating the frequency interleaved luminance and chrominance components of a composite video signal is provided wherein signal charges representative of the composite video signal within first and second delay lines are effectively subtracted one from the other by alternately passing them under a common, periodically clamped, normally floating sense electrode. This eliminates the need for a phase inverter, which causes imperfect separation due to having a non-zero time delay and not having exactly unity gain.
