    摘要: A blade sharpening system may include a sharpening tool for sharpening a workpiece. The system may also include a sharpening fixture having a mounting surface for mounting a workpiece to be sharpened by the sharpening tool. The mounting surface may be disposed on a sled that is movable along a sharpening path that passes under a sharpening implement that may be mounted to a movable arm of the sharpening tool when the arm is in an engaged position. The movement of the sled may be coupled to the movement of the arm such that moving the arm from a disengaged position to the engaged position initiates the sled to move in a first direction along the sharpening path and moving the arm from the engaged position to the disengaged position initiates the sled to move along the sharpening path in a second direction.

    摘要: Enhanced methods are disclosed for performing operations such as cleaning, inspection or data acquisition on an external surface of a hollow cylindrical tubular. Preferred embodiments include providing a fluid dispenser and an abrasion assembly on a buggy that travels up and down the length of the tubular as the tubular rotates. The fluid dispenser includes nozzles that dispense cleaning fluids onto the tubular's external surface. The abrasion assembly includes a swivel brush and a brush train providing different styles of abrasion cleaning of the tubular's external surface. Preferred embodiments of the buggy also carry a range finding laser and an optical camera generating samples that may be processed in real time into data regarding the surface contours and the diameter variations on the tubular's external surface. Cleaning and inspection variables such as tubular rotational speed, or buggy speed, may be adjusted responsive to measured surface contour data.

    摘要: A robotic apparatus and system for cutting turbine bucket covers on a turbine rotor are provided. The robotic apparatus includes a grinding device operable to drive a grinding wheel, a robotic arm coupled to the grinding device, a base member coupled to the robotic arm, a vision system for locating the fastener on the turbine bucket cover, and a control system. The base member is mounted independently of the turbine bucket cover. The control system is coupled to the vision system, the grinding device, and the robotic apparatus, and configured to control movement of the robotic apparatus and the grinding device based upon vision system data and spatial information related to the turbine bucket cover. The system includes at least a portion of a turbine rotor including a turbine bucket cover having at least one fastener thereon, and a robotic device for cutting the turbine bucket cover.
