Abstract: To assist in maintaining a seal ring in a proper position in a fuel tank assembly, a retaining ring is utilized. The retaining ring surrounds the seal ring to provide a physical barrier to restrict the seal ring. The assembly includes a tank having an opening and a plurality of flanges located about the opening, a fuel pump module, the retaining ring and a seal ring. The retaining ring is located within the plurality of flanges, positioned around the opening and the fuel pump module. The seal ring is located within the plurality of flanges, positioned around the opening and the fuel pump module such that in a radial direction the seal ring is positioned between the fuel pump module and the retaining ring, and in an axial direction the seal ring is positioned between the fuel pump module and the fuel tank.

Abstract: A method of making a multi-acid polymer comprising: reacting a polymer precursor in sulfonyl fluoride or sulfonyl chloride form with anhydrous ammonia to obtain a sulfonamide, wherein the polymer precursor in sulfonyl fluoride or sulfonyl chloride form has a formula R—SO2F or R—SO2Cl, respectively, with R being one of more units of the polymer precursor without sulfonyl fluoride or sulfonyl chloride, and wherein the sulfonamide has a formula R—SO2—NH2; and reacting the sulfonamide with a compound of a formula COOH—X-AGG under a mild base condition, wherein X is one of C6H3 or N(CH2)3 and AGG is an acid giving group, to form the multi-acid polymer having an imide base and more than two proton conducting groups.

Abstract: Electrodes incorporate an electrically activated matrix into which active material is provided. The active material includes alloying particles, which, as used herein, are active catalyst particles that have a high lithium storage capacity resulting in large volume expansions during lithiation. The electrically activated matrix is activated during charging and discharging of the battery, and when activated, maintains the electrode structure and stability by expanding and contracting with the volume expansion and contraction of the alloying particles during lithiation and delithiation, respectively. The electrically activated matrix also reduces cracking and pulverization of the alloying particles, maintaining electrical conductivity between active materials, thereby maintaining battery energy density through the life of the battery.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for traffic signal timing estimation are disclosed. Traffic signal timing estimation may include a vehicle identifying transportation network information representing a vehicle transportation network including an intersection. The transportation network information may include expected traffic control device state information corresponding to the intersection, such as a support vector regression based machine learning model trained for the intersection. The vehicle may identify a route through the vehicle transportation network that includes the intersection based on the expected traffic control device state information and may control the traversal of the vehicle transportation network by the vehicle based on the expected traffic control device state information to minimize one or more operational cost metrics. Training the model may include identifying training data from input data previously generated and stored by a traffic control device controller of the intersection.

Abstract: A compartment housing defines a compartment opening. A pivoting structure is disposed within the compartment housing for pivoting movement about a pivot axis that extends through the compartment housing. Abstract: A vehicle grill shutter system comprising at least one grill shutter and a controller. The grill shutter is movably coupled to a vehicle at a location forward of a radiator of the vehicle. The grill shutter comprises first and second portions. The first portion has a first surface and includes a first material having a first porosity, and the second portion has a second surface and includes a second material having a second porosity which is less porous than the first porosity. Abstract: A vehicle trim structure has a vehicle floor, a bracket assembly, a main body and a side trim panel. The vehicle floor has a plurality of first attachment parts located within a central region of a vehicle passenger compartment. The bracket assembly has a plurality of second attachment parts and at least one alignment pin. The plurality of second attachment parts are fastened to the first attachment parts. The at least one alignment pin is rigidly fixed to the bracket assembly. The main body has a horizontally extending slot along a leading edge thereof with the alignment pin being inserted into the horizontally extending slot positioning the main body relative to the bracket assembly and the vehicle floor. The side trim panel is installed to a side of the center console concealing the horizontally extending slot and the at least one alignment pin.
