摘要: In accordance with the present invention, there is provided a processing methodology for use in processing information received by a smart card which contains and supports a user personal data profile. Parameters specific to individual user's personal preferences, including travel related parameters and service preferences, are input and stored by the smart card and may be selectively read out and/or transmitted to instantaneously provide the individual's personalized data to various travel related processing systems. The smart card may also be used to present messages to the traveler from various travel services institutions, and also to be programmed by those institutions in order to access certain facilities available to the traveler.

摘要: A voice mail system includes a call processing unit to receive incoming calls and access requests, a data storage unit to store digital representations of audio messages on a storage medium, and an administrative unit to enable a user to define a voice mail profile. The profile includes a set of voice mail conditions and a corresponding set of conditional actions. Each condition specifies at least one characteristic of an incoming call or system access request. The voice mail system processes a system access request or incoming call by determining whether at least one of the voice mail conditions is satisfied and, if so, responding to the system access request or incoming call according to the corresponding conditional action.

摘要: An example of a solution provided here comprises: receiving a message from a sender; providing the message to a recipient; and in response to a request from the sender, automatically transmitting multiple-party receipt notifications to a number of persons. Thus a number of persons may be notified that the recipient has been provided with the content of the message. In some cases, such a solution may comprise providing limits for the multiple-party receipt notifications.

摘要: Embodiments of the invention relate to handling failures in a cluster of computer resources. The resources are represented as nodes in a dependency graph in which some nodes are articulation points and the removal of any articulation point due to a resource failure results in a disconnected graph. The embodiments perform a failover when a resource corresponding to an articulation point fails. The failover is to a local resource if the failed resource does not affect all local resources. The failover is to a remote resource if no local resource can meet all resource requirements of the failed resource, and to a remote resource running in a degraded mode if the remote resource cannot meet all of the requirements.

摘要: Performance data is captured periodically from resources and groups of resources in a grid computing environment and stored in a content-addressable data repository from which it can be accessed in response to an arbitrarily complex query in regard to specifics of particular jobs or job portions, particular resources utilized, grid architecture, application environment, concurrent jobs or job portions and the like. The data repository may be distributed or divided in regard to grid environment architecture, security domains or the like and each portion or division may be implemented in a modular fashion including an accounting and statistics management module and additional modules or computing engines for performing particular desired analyses or functions. Results of such analyses or functions may be communicated to a grid workload agent (and associated modules) to improve grid management on a fine-grained basis.

摘要: Peer-to-peer communications between vehicles providing warning of a collision or near-collision event and/or collision avoidance is controlled by otherwise underutilized air bag deployment processors in respective vehicles. Direction of reception of warning signals is used to selectively control relaying of warning signals at differentiated warning levels, collision avoidance actions and/or in-vehicle warning alarms to operators of vehicles in the vicinity of an event.

摘要: A method, system, and program for coordinating the monitoring, management, and prediction of unintended changes within a grid environment are provided. A grid change controller within a particular grid environment detects an unintended change within that grid environment. In particular, grid change controller monitors potential change indicators received from multiple disparate resource managers across the grid environment, where each resource manage manages a selection of resources within the grid environment. The grid change controller then determines a necessary response to the unintended change within the grid environment and communicates with at least one independent manager within the grid environment to resolve the unintended change, such that the grid change controller facilitates recovery from the unintended change within the grid environment to maintain performance requirements within the grid environment.
