Abstract:
The present disclosure provides systems and methods for an adjustable bed. The bed includes a frame mounted to a subframe. The frame is movable length-wise with respect to the subframe. The subframe includes a head lift, a foot lift, or both a head lift and a foot lift, for adjusting a vertical position of the frame with respect to the subframe. When wheels of the frame mount the head lift, the foot lift, or both, the frame assumes an orientation that is inclined with respect to the subframe. The orientation may be inclined positively, inclined negatively or inclined flat with respect to the subframe. Using the lifts, the bed may assume a zero-gravity inclination, in which the user's heart is at the same level as the user's feet. An actuator and controls may be used to adjust a position of the frame.
Abstract:
A control command is received via a touch screen from a user. The control command is directed to recalling a user-selected bed position of an adjustable bed. Recalling includes: identifying a row in a data table representing a user-selected bed position and retrieving an increment value from the row. The increment value specifies one of a range of available positions for the adjustable bed. A component of the adjustable bed is controlled to meet the increment value The component includes at least one of an actuator and a vibration motor.
Abstract:
This disclosure concerns a wallhugger bed with a plurality of mattress retaining brackets secured to one or more corners of the mattress platform to keep the mattress from shifting on the mattress platform during operation of the actuator.
Abstract:
This disclosure concerns a two-way wireless communication system adapted to communicate between a handheld remote control and an adjustable bed controller. The handheld remote control includes a user interface adapted to facilitate a user in adjusting a parameter of an adjustable bed using the two-way wireless communication system. The user interface is adapted to facilitate the user in adjusting a parameter of a home control system. A display on the user interface is used to display a graphical representation of the adjustable bed parameter and a graphical representation of the home control system parameter.
Abstract:
This disclosure concerns a wireless communication system adapted to establish a feedback protocol between a handheld remote control and at least an adjustable bed controller, the handheld remote control having a memory position user interface adapted to initiate a transmission of a position recall command from the handheld remote control to an adjustable bed controller using the feedback protocol to adjust a position of a bed segment to a preset position from within a predetermined range of acceptable positions stored in memory. The adjustable bed controller is adapted to initiate a communication from the adjustable bed controller to the handheld remote to indicate that the adjustable bed controller has responded to the position recall command.
Abstract:
This disclosure concerns a user interface adapted to facilitate a user in adjusting a parameter of an adjustable bed by presenting the option for a recall command. Upon receiving the recall command at an adjustable bed controller, the adjustable bed controller accesses a memory of the adjustable bed controller to recall a predetermined position. The user interface is adapted to facilitate the user in adjusting a parameter of a home control system. A display on the user interface is used to display a graphical representation of the adjustable bed parameter and a graphical representation of the home control system parameter.
Abstract:
This disclosure concerns a touch screen remote control adapted to present one or more interactive bed control icons for controlling an articulating adjustment of a position of a bed segment that is supported by an adjustable bed controller. The adjustable bed controller is adapted to, in response to a receipt of a motion command from the touch screen remote control, adjust, with feedback, a portion of an adjustable bed; wherein the feedback is based on a comparison of sensor feedback and a predetermined position stored in memory.
Abstract:
A remote control communicates via two-way communication with a controller for a bed facility to allow a user of the remote control to control a function of the bed facility. Adjustable features of an adjustable bed can be controlled through the two-way communication. Inflation or other features of an air mattress can be controlled through the two-way communication. Two-way communication is supported by either a wired connection or a wireless connection such as Bluetooth, USB, ultra wideband, and the like. The two-way communication also supports the remote control controlling a second system that is associated with the adjustable bed.
Abstract:
An adjustable bed frame assembly includes a center frame comprising two substantially parallel side frame members connected by two substantially parallel connector frame members, a forward connector frame member and a rear connector frame member, wherein the two connector frame members are located within approximately a center one-third of the length of the side frame members. The adjustable bed frame assembly also includes a base frame that includes a plurality of legs for mounting on a floor is rigidly affixed to the center frame such that the center frame does not move with respect to the base frame. The adjustable bed frame assembly further includes a head frame that comprises two substantially parallel side frame members connected by at least one connector frame member, wherein two lower ends of the head frame's parallel side frame members are pivotally attached to the forward connector frame member of the center frame; in addition, a downwardly facing extension frame member is attached to the head frame's connector frame. The adjustable bed frame assembly also includes an actuator for raising and lowering the head frame, wherein one end of the actuator is pivotally connected to the head frame's extension frame member and an opposing end of the actuator is connected to the center frame's rear connector frame member. The adjustable bed frame assembly also includes a mattress platform affixed to a top side of the head frame to provide support to a head portion of a mattress.
