    Abstract: A method for gaze-based workflow adaptation includes identifying a workflow in which a user is engaged, where the workflow comprises a plurality of tasks that collectively achieves a desired goal, creating a trigger for a given task of the plurality of tasks, wherein the trigger specifies an action to be automatically taken in response to a gaze of the user meeting a defined criterion, monitoring a progress of the workflow, monitoring the gaze of the user, and sending a signal to a remote device in response to the gaze of the user meeting the defined criterion, wherein the signal instructs the remote device to take the action.

    Abstract: A processing system of a mobile device may determine the device's predicted viewport, which defines a portion of a real world environment that is expected to be visible to the device's user at a future time. The processing system may determine a set of extended reality anchors that are present in the real world environment, where each anchor stores a digital object that, when rendered by the device and presented to the user simultaneously with the real world environment, creates extended reality media. The processing system may remove a first subset anchors from the set, where locations of anchors in the first subset fall outside a threshold distance from the predicted viewport. The removing results in a second subset of anchors remaining in the set. The processing system may download a digital object from a second device, where the digital object is stored by an anchor of the second subset.

    Abstract: A mobile device incorporating the subject disclosure may perform, for example, operations including requesting transport characteristics of a network coupled to a server and to the device according to a trajectory of the device. Data packets are transported to the mobile device according to a dynamic adaptive streaming over hypertext transfer protocol. The operations include obtaining the current transport characteristics of the network and predicting a future transport characteristic of the network, according to the trajectory of the device. A time is scheduled for sending a request to the server for transmission over the network of a data packet. The time can be scheduled according to the current and future transport characteristics of the network, to avoid degradation in quality of media content presented by the device. The data packet received responsive to sending the request is buffered for a future presentation of the media content. Other embodiments are disclosed.
