摘要： A cutting tool or a wear-resistant mechanical part comprises: a substrate of WC, Co, TiC, and TaC with or without an inner coating layer of TiC, TiN or TiCN; an intermediate layer of a titanium oxycarbide formed on the surface of the substrate or the inner coating layer by carrying out a reaction thereon at a temperature of 800.degree. to 1,200.degree. C. of a halide of titanium, hydrogen, and carbon monoxide or carbon dioxide or a mixture thereof; and an outer coating layer of aluminum oxide formed on the outer surface of the intermediate layer. The thicknesses of the inner layer, the intermediate layer , and the outer coating layer are of the order of 0.5 to 20 microns, 0.5 to 20 microns, and 0.5 to 10 microns, respectively.

摘要： Apparatus for a wire spray coating method including a capacitor connected with an electric power source to be charged thereby. A gap switch having discharge electrodes which are spaced apart from each other so that a discharge is produced under a voltage applied by the capacitor. Wire receiving terminals which are spaced apart to receive a length of wire of coating material therebetween, the terminals being connected with the capacitor so that the charge of the capacitor is applied to the terminals through the switch. The discharge electrodes being maintained at a fixed distance so that a discharge across the electrodes is readily produced when the electrodes are supplied with the voltage from the capacitor. A voltage dividing element for applying a fraction of the voltage across the capacitor to the discharge electrodes and the remainder of the voltage to the wire receiving terminals when the wire is not in position between the terminals, but for applying substantially a total voltage of the capacitor when the wire is in a position between the terminals.

摘要： An appliance for treating teeth, such as human teeth, by providing them with a reinforcing acid-resistant layer of a tooth decay retarding agent. The appliance includes a vibrator for producing ultrasonic vibrations, this vibrator terminating in an elongated vibratory tip. A casing houses the vibrator and has a tubular open end region in which the tip is at least partly accommodated. This tubular open end region of the casing carries an elastic membrane wall which extends across the tubular open end region of the casing and through which the tip extends so that the tip has a free end situated outwardly beyond this elastic membrane wall. The elastic membrane wall fluid-tightly engages the vibratory tip while surrounding the latter, and the membrane wall maintains this fluid-tight engagement with the tip during vibration thereof. The tubular open end of the casing is adapted to be attached to a tray which has a hollow interior provided with a liquid vibration-transmitting medium, the tip piercing into the interior of the tray to engage the liquid medium therein when the tray is attached to the casing at the tubular open end region thereof.

The reinforcing element is formed of a helically formed filament or a bundle of a plurality of helically formed filaments. The filament has a tensile breaking strength of at least 140 kg/mm.sup.2 and elongation at tensile breaking strength which is at least 1.2 times the smallest elongation at tensile breaking strength of the main cord layers of the belt. The rubberized reinforcing layer as a whole is extensible and compressible.

摘要： A device for exposing teeth to radiation of ultrasonic waves while the teeth are contacted by a decay-retarding agent, for forming a reinforcing layer of the latter agent on the teeth. In addition to a generator for generating ultrasonic waves, the device includes a support structure which carries a plate capable of transmitting and reflecting the ultrasonic waves. The latter plate is situated between the generator and teeth toward which waves are generally directed from the generator, so that the latter waves are received by this plate which transmits part of the waves through the plate to the teeth at the side of the plate opposite from the generator while another part of the waves are reflected by this plate away from the teeth which receive the transmitted waves, so that in this way the reflected waves may be utilized to treat additional teeth.

The turn-up portion of the carcass ply is separated from the carcass ply by means of a soft rubber layer composed of rubber having a Shore A hardness which is smaller than a Shore A hardness of a coating rubber of the carcass ply and a 300% modulus of elasticity which is 50% to 85% of a 300% modulus of elasticity of the coating rubber of the carcass ply.
