摘要： A printer driver is provided in a host computer. When a print job occurs, the printer driver automatically selects the format of a plotting command to be output to a printer. As the command format, there are available two kinds of formats: a high-level printer control language format (for example, PDL), and an intermediate code format expressed in an intermediate language. When the latter format is selected, the printer driver converts a plotting command from an application to an intermediate code and then outputs the intermediate code to the printer. The printer converts the intermediate code to another intermediate code specific to the printer by a very simple processing, and then develops the intermediate code to a bit image, thereby enabling high speed printing.

摘要： The present invention provides a space-saving and low-cost emergency power system, which can be installed on a narrow place having limited space and employs a battery that is long in service life and low in frequency of replacement. This emergency power system comprises a circuit having a DC load, a rectifier, and a battery, which are electrically connected to one another. This circuit is adapted so that normally, DC power is supplied from the rectifier to the DC load, and the battery is charged, and that in an emergency, such as a power failure, in which an outage of the rectifier occurs, electric power is automatically supplied from the battery to the DC load. In this system, a sodium sulfur battery is employed as the battery.

A column select signal at the same voltage level as a first internal power supply voltage applied to a sense amplifier is generated to an I/O gate circuit connecting a bit line pair and an internal data line pair together. A current driving capability of an I/O gate circuit is made relatively small, so that rapid change in potential on a sense node of a sense amplifier is prevented. Thereby, inversion of latched data of the sense amplifier due to collision of data is prevented in such a case voltages on the internal data line pair are not equalized sufficiently.

摘要： The temperature of a casting die is controlled in a low-pressure casting process for pressurizing the surface of molten metal stored in a closed container to fill the molten metal in a die cavity defined in the casting die. The temperature of the casting die is detected by a temperature sensor, and compared with a preset reference die temperature range. The amount of cooling water to be supplied to the casting die is controlled based on the result of the comparison. When the detected temperature of the casting die falls in the preset reference die temperature range, the molten metal starts to be filled in the die cavity.
