摘要: This invention achieves data capacity efficiency via data de-duplication and maximizes a power-saving effect by disk operation control. In a storage system, when data is received from a computer, a value representing the bit string for the data is calculated and whether or not a value identical to the calculated value is stored in a data management table is judged. If it is judged that an identical value is not stored, the received data is registered in the data management table and stored, based on a group management table, in disk device(s) associated with a logical unit number of a logical unit constituting an active group. Meanwhile, if it is judged that an identical value is stored, the received data is stored in disk device(s) based on the group information managed in the group management table and the management information managed in the data management table.

摘要: The present invention provides a transformed silkworm which has a polynucleotide encoding human collagen within the genomic DNA and produces recombinant human collagen as a part of proteins in the cocoon or the silk gland; a process for producing recombinant human collagen by using this transformed silkworm; and a recombinant vector for use in the generation of the transformed silkworm. Since human collagen is collected from the cocoon discharged by this transformed silkworm or its silk gland, highly pure human collagen can be conveniently obtained in a large amount. Moreover, because the recombinant human collagen produced by the transformed silkworm is safe collagen which is free from any fear of the contamination with pathogens such as viruses or prions and exhibits no antigenicity toward humans. Thus, it can be utilized in various industrial fields including medicines, foods, cosmetics and the like.

摘要: For the expression of a foreign gene, a virus is provided in which at least a part of a cysteine protease gene present on a genome of a baculovirus has been deleted or substituted by a marker gene. A process is also disclosed for the formation of the virus. A transfer vector for the deletion of a cysteine protease gene is also described. This transfer vector comprises a DNA fragment of a nuclear polyhedrosis virus genome, in which at least a part of a cysteine protease gene has been substituted by a marker gene, and a plasmid vector fragment. Also disclosed is a process for the production of an economic protein. This production process comprises inoculating a host insect with a gene recombination virus, said gene recombination virus having been obtained by deleting or substituting by a marker gene at least a part of a cysteine protease gene present on a genome of a baculovirus or a nuclear polyhedrosis virus; expressing an economic protein gene inserted downstream a polyhedral gene promoter, granulin gene promoter or p10 gene promoter of the gene recombination virus; and collecting the economic protein.

摘要: Disclosed is an electrochemical double-layer capacitor which comprises a capacitor element having a pair of polarization electrodes and a spacer interposed between the electrodes and impregnated with an electrolyte solution, and a film enclosure made of two film sheets which have been thermally bonded by heat sealing along their entire periphery. The film sheets are bonded directly or through a heat-fusible resin plate having an opening in which the capacitor element is received. When using the heat-fusible resin plate, the film sheet is made electrically conductive for allowing easy connection to electric appliances or allowing easy connection of a plurality of capacitor elements in series.
