    摘要: A configuration management computer and program for managing volume configuration of a computer system are provided. This program collects configuration information from a host computer, switch, and storage system, that are objects for management, and creates correspondence of usage between a replica volume and a replica configuration definition. Once the storage administrator designates the original volume and usage, the configuration management program allocates the replica volume to the host computer on the basis of the replica volume allocation destination computer, a replica volume creation destination storage system, and a replica function that correspond to the designated usage.

    摘要: When a storage system having a cache memory divided module is provided with independence of performance by allocating different cache areas to different disk volumes, the performance independence is deteriorated if a module is used for correlating a plurality of disk volumes. When a storage administrator uses a module for correlating plural disk volumes, a configuration management program in a management server outputs and displays a configuration change that may deteriorate the performance independence. To maintain performance independence, the management program changes the configuration of the cache area on the basis of a priority of the performance independence for each volume designated in advance by the administrator. To maintain the performance independence, the configuration management program presents, to the system administrator, a selection for changing the configuration of the cache area, so that a device can be provided for the storage administrator to designate a CLPR area configuration after operation.

    摘要: A volume management system, a managing computer, a host, and a volume management method being capable of regulating the authorities of users and avoiding misoperations are provided. The volume management system comprises a storage having volumes served as a storage region, a managing computer, and a plurality of hosts used by users obtaining an operation authority over the volume. Two or more users can use an identical volume. Upon obtaining an operation content of one user for at least one of the volumes over which two or more users have the operation authority, the managing computer determines from an attribute of the volume and the operation authority of the two or more users over the volume whether the operation content is executable. When the operation content is not executable, the operation content is restrained.

    摘要: A storage system is configured to manage a pool to which multiple virtual volumes (VVOLs) are associated, assign a real area (RA) from any tier in an available tier pattern associated with a write-destination VVOL to a write-destination virtual area (VA), and carry out a reassignment process for migrating data inside the RA to an RA of a different tier, based on an access status of the RA. A management system is configured to assume a specified tier has been removed from the available tier pattern of a target VVOL, predict performance of all VVOLs associated with the pool to which the target VVOL is associated, determine whether there is a VVOL for which predicted performance is lower than a required performance, and when such a VVOL does not exist, instruct the storage system to remove the specified tier from the available tier pattern of the target VVOL.
