    摘要: In a method for improving the transmission efficiency in a communication system with a layered protocol stack, data packets are processed on an upper protocol layer. Data packets are forwarded to a lower protocol layer for transmission and the transmission is performed with variable channel access delays. The upper protocol layer is notified by the lower protocol layer when a transmission is started to allow a synchronization of timers in the upper protocol layer. If a layer performs a scheduling of data packets for the transmission, a rescheduling is performed alternatively or in addition during a channel access delay. Devices and software programs embodying the invention are also described.

    摘要: In a UMTS Terrestrial Radio Access Network (UTRAN), a method of switching from a current common channel to a dedicated channel for a UE. The method comprises estimating the round trip delay for data packets travelling between the UE and a peer node with which the UE is communicating. The product of the estimated round trip delay and the bandwidth of the common channel or the dedicated channel is determined and a threshold defined on the basis of that product. A switch from the common channel to a dedicated channel is initiated when the fill level of the RLC buffer(s) in the UTRAN for the UE reaches or exceeds said threshold.

    摘要: A method for a data transmission with ARQ protocol using multicast groups such as GSM, GPRS or UMTS in a mobile communication system is described. Data is transmitted in data blocks (PDU) from a transmitter (T) to a plurality of receivers (R1-RM), said data blocks (PDU) being identifiable by an identification (e.g. a sequence number). The receivers (R1-RM) send status indications to the transmitter (T) whether a data block (PDU) is correctly received. The transmitter (T) is adapted to perform retransmissions according to the status indications and has a transmission window comprising the transmission status for the data blocks (PDU) according to their identification. In the method, a synchronization to the transmitter (T) is performed for at least one first of said receivers (Ri), wherein a range of identifications of transmitted data block (PDU) is selected in said synchronization. The transmitter (T) deletes the transmission status for the selected range of identifications from the transmitter window and the first receiver (Ri) stops sending status indications for the data blocks (PDU) corresponding to the selected range of identifications. In addition, a transmitter and a computer program implementing the method are described. As an example the transmitter can be a RNC extending the RLC and MAC-HSPDA protocols standardized by 3GPP for obtaining efficient and reliable point-to-multipoint radio links.

    摘要: In a mobile network, the transmission of downlink data blocks to one or more terminal devices is accomplished on the basis of a retransmission protocol with a first feedback time defining a time interval between transmission of a first data block and transmission of a first feedback message being different from a second feedback time defining a time interval between transmission of a second data block and transmission of a second feedback message. The first feedback message indicates whether the first data block was successfully received, and the second feedback message indicates whether the second data block was successfully received. A base station of the mobile network controls the terminal device to send the second feedback message on other resources than used for transmission of the first feedback message.
