Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A base station may transmit, to a user equipment (UE), a configuration of a radio link monitoring resource for a radio link that transports downlink traffic for a first type of service, the first type of service having a higher reliability specification and a lower latency specification than a second type of service offered by the base station. The UE may receive the configuration, and detect that the radio link satisfies a failure condition for the first type of service based on monitoring the RLM resource. The UE may transmit a radio link failure (RLF) indication for the first type of service to the base station based on detecting that the radio link satisfies the failure condition for the first type of service. The base station may receive the RLF from the UE, and transmit an RLF response to the UE.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment may receive a group-specific radio network temporary identifier (RNTI) associated with non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA); receive an indication of whether the group-specific RNTI is associated with contention-based NOMA or contention-free NOMA; and selectively use a group-specific multiple access (MA) signature or a UE-specific MA signature for a NOMA transmission based at least in part on the indication. Numerous other aspects are provided.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some systems, a user equipment (UE) may perform a random access channel (RACH) procedure with a base station. The UE may receive a message configuring a RACH preamble occasion and an uplink data occasion. The message may be a radio resource control (RRC) message or a system information (SI) message. In some cases, the UE may determine if the RACH preamble occasion, the uplink data occasion, or both are restricted for cancellation based on the message. The UE may determine when to monitor a downlink control channel for dynamic scheduling based on determining which occasions are restricted for cancellation and may transmit a RACH message based on monitoring—or not monitoring—the downlink control channel for dynamic scheduling preempting a RACH occasion. In some other cases, a base station may schedule transmissions to not overlap with configured RACH occasions.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described for identifying a file having a set of packets that are configured to be processed together. The base station may determine a segmentation scheme for the file based on a size of the file and identify a batch of assignments for communicating the file via a batch of transmissions based on the segmentation scheme. The base station may communicate the file via the batch of transmissions with a user equipment (UE) during the batch of assignments. Additional techniques are described herein for a UE to identify that the UE is storing a file in a buffer at the UE. The UE may transmit an indication to the base station that the buffer includes the file. In some cases, the UE may indicate a size of the file.

Abstract: Systems and methods related to UL communications in a wireless network are provided. A UE receives an indication of a plurality of TXOPs for a RACH procedure from a BS. In an embodiment, the UE starts a timer after either successfully transmitting a random access message to the BS or failing to succeed in any of the TXOPs. In another embodiment, the UE starts the timer at a pre-agreed time after one of the TXOPs, regardless of whether the random access message has been successfully transmitted yet or not. In another embodiment, the UE receives as part of a RACH response an indication of whether the RACH response is split into multiple parts. If the UE does not locate an identifier corresponding to the UE in the RACH response, the UE checks for the indication and, if present, listen for the next RACH response identified from the indication.

Abstract: Techniques are described herein for collision handling in uplink transmissions. A user equipment (UE) may have more information to transmit during an uplink transmission than the allocated resources can handle. The UE may identify that an uplink transmission includes a plurality of different channels. The UE may exclude service types or scale the transmit power of service types based on performing a prioritization of the different channels in the uplink transmission. In some cases, the UE may prioritize ultra-reliable low-latency communications (URLLC) service types over enhanced mobile broadband (eMBB) service types. In some cases, the content of the URLLC service types and the content of the eMBB service types may be considered when prioritizing. The UE may be capable of configuring different sets of priority rules based on reliability thresholds and latency thresholds associated with the service types.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described that provide for a single bit or multiple bit scheduling request (SR). The SR may be transmitted by a user equipment (UE) to a base station and may indicate that the UE has data to be transmitted to the base station. The SR may include an indication of the priority level associated with the data to be transmitted to the base station, which may be based on the data type, logical channel, or numerology associated with the data to be transmitted to the base station.
