Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may determine a limit on a number of concurrently active bandwidth parts, wherein the limit applies per component carrier used by the UE or across component carriers used by the UE. The UE may communicate using one or more bandwidth parts on one or more component carriers used by the UE based at least in part on the limit, wherein at least one bandwidth part of the one or more bandwidth parts is less than a full bandwidth that the UE is capable of using. Numerous other aspects are provided.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described that provide allocation of wireless resources for UEs in carrier aggregation resource groups that span two or more component carriers (CCs). A carrier aggregation resource group may include a portion of available wireless resources in two or more CCs, and multiple carrier aggregation resource groups may be configured that may include resources that span overlapping or non-overlapping CCs. Downlink control information may be transmitted using a downlink control region that spans two or more CCs in a carrier aggregation resource group. A UE may be configured to monitor multiple CCs for downlink control information, such as through blind decodes of each CC that may contain downlink control information.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A discontinuous reception (DRX) periodicity may be configured to enable monitoring of a reference signal (RS) for RLM procedures. For example, a transmitting device may configure a DRX periodicity for an RS, where the configured DRX periodicity may include a periodicity of discrete transmissions of the RS or a periodicity of a transmission window in which the RS is located. Accordingly, a receiving device may identify the DRX periodicity and monitor radio link quality using the RS based on the DRX periodicity. In some examples, the RS may be transmitted independent of control channel transmissions, and the transmitting device may configure one or more control resource sets for the RS.

Abstract: User equipment (UE)-specific information may be transmitted within a control resource set configured to carry resources common to UEs within a system. The UE-specific information may be associated with a search space having an aggregation level different from aggregation levels used with the common control resources and may occupy different modulation symbols within the common control resource set (e.g., to support flexible scheduling for multiple UEs). A base station and UE may operate in a system using one or more control resource sets within a system bandwidth. The UE may detect common control resources by monitoring decoding candidates in the control resource set according to a first set of aggregation levels. The UE may detect UE-specific control resources by monitoring decoding candidates in the control resource set according to other aggregation levels. The UE and base station may communicate based on control information obtained from the monitoring.
