Abstract:
The present disclosure provides for fast radio resource management procedures for new radio. Generally, a fixed frame structure is utilized and all base stations are synchronized. A base station may transmit a reservation request during a first control slot for the base station in a reservation channel at a beginning of a synchronized frame. A first user equipment may transmit and the base station may receive a reservation response during a second control slot. The base station may receive, from the first UE, after a third control slot of the reservation channel for a neighboring base station, a reservation indication based on a measurement by the first UE of the neighboring base station or at least one other UE associated with the neighboring base station. The base station may determine, based on the resource indication, whether to schedule the first UE during a data channel of the synchronized frame.
Abstract:
A medium reservation framework is disclosed for coexistence of coordinated and uncoordinated wireless networks in licensed spectrum and shared spectrum. The proposed medium reservation framework organically takes into account operating regimes with different numbers of Tx/Rx antennas per node, provides flexibility in trading off medium contention aggressiveness and power saving, leverages the inherent synchronization nature of NR, and covers both coordinated and uncoordinated operation scenarios. Various aspects of the medium reservation framework may be centered on one or more combinations of some basic building blocks, such as an operation grid, synchronization signals, and reservation messages, such as a reservation request signal (RRQ) and one or more a reservation response signals (RRS).
Abstract:
Techniques are described for wireless communication at a user equipment (UE). One method includes receiving a downlink grant for a downlink transmission; transmitting channel quality feedback at a first time triggered by receipt of the downlink grant, the first time occurring during a first transmission time interval (TTI); and transmitting acknowledgement/negative-acknowledgement (ACK/NACK) feedback for the downlink transmission at a second time triggered by receipt of the downlink grant, the second time occurring during a second TTI, and the second TTI occurring later in time than the first TTI.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for demapping a double squared quadrature amplitude modulated (DSQ) symbol is disclosed. One or more first log likelihood ratios (LLRs) are determined, for a first subset of constellation points of a corresponding DSQ constellation, using an LLR approximation. One or more second LLRs are determined, for a second subset of constellation points of the DSQ constellation, using a lookup table. The DSQ symbol is then demapped to one of a plurality of constellation points of the DSQ constellation based on the first and second LLRs. For some embodiments, the first subset of constellation points may correspond with an inner region of the DSQ constellation and the second subset of constellation points may correspond with an outer region of the DSQ constellation.
Abstract:
A receiver is disclosed that includes a slicer having an input to receive a sequence of symbols exhibiting inter-symbol-interference (ISI). The slicer determines a state associated with each symbol based on a threshold. A feedback equalization unit is coupled to the slicer to apply equalization to the symbol fed to the slicer input based on prior detected symbol states. A Least-Mean-Square (LMS) unit cooperates with the slicer and feedback equalization unit to estimate a channel impulse response based on the equalized symbols. The LMS unit feeds the estimated channel impulse response to a Maximum-Likelihood-Sequence-Estimation (MLSE) unit to generate an estimated sequence of bits based on the estimated channel impulse response.
Abstract:
Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a helper user equipment (UE) may receive, from a base station, a signaling message requesting the helper UE to monitor for and transmit a sidelink communication in a manner that uses a single-frequency network, wherein the sidelink communication is to be transmitted by a source UE to a destination UE that is different from the helper UE. The helper UE may receive the sidelink communication, transmitted by the source UE to the destination UE, in a first time-frequency resource of the single-frequency network. The helper UE may transmit the sidelink communication in a second time-frequency resource of the single-frequency network, wherein the second time-frequency resource is indicated to the helper UE by the base station. Numerous other aspects are described.
Abstract:
Aspects relate techniques for facilitating resumption of a sidelink transmission after cancellation of the sidelink transmission within resources that overlap with an additional transmission. A transmitting wireless communication device may receive control information from a network entity including a cancellation indication indicating overlapping resources between the resources scheduled for the sidelink transmission and resources scheduled for the additional transmission. Based on the cancellation indication, the transmitting wireless communication device may cancel the sidelink transmission within cancelled resources including at least the overlapping resources and transmit the sidelink transmission via remaining resources of the scheduled resources for the sidelink transmission outside of the cancelled resources.
Abstract:
Techniques for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive downlink control information (DCI) scheduling sidelink transmissions in one or more sets of multiple transmission time intervals (TTIs) over a shared spectrum. The UE may perform a listen-before-talk (LBT) for one or more of the TTIs in the one or more sets of multiple TTIs, and the UE may transmit, to a base station, an indication of results of the LBT performed for the one or more TTIs. Because the UE may provide the results of the LBT to the base station, the base station may be able to schedule sidelink transmissions from the UE based on the results of the LBT. As such, the UE may experience increased throughput in sidelink communications since the scheduling at the base station may be improved.
Abstract:
Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. A source user equipment (UE) may transmit, to a relay UE, information identifying that the relay UE is one of a plurality of relay UEs selected for cooperative relaying of a communication from the source UE to a destination UE. A channel between the source UE and the relay UE may be one of a plurality of channels comprising a channel between the source UE and each relay UE of the plurality of relay UEs. The plurality of relay UEs may be selected based at least in part on a degree of correlation of the channel between the source UE and the relay UE with at least one other channel of the plurality of channels. The UE may transmit the communication to the plurality of relay UEs for cooperative relaying to the destination UE. Numerous other aspects are described.
Abstract:
This disclosure provides systems, methods, and devices for wireless communication that support a super slot configuration for new radio (NR) sidelink over millimeter wave (mmW) operating frequencies. In a first aspect, a method of wireless communication by a user equipment (UE) includes obtaining a sidelink resource pool configuration including configuration of one or more super slots, wherein each super slot includes a plurality of slots contiguous in a time domain The UE may select one or more sidelink resource slots for sidelink transmissions in a sidelink resource pool and transmit an enhanced sidelink control information (eSCI) message in a first slot of a first super slot, wherein the eSCI message indicates a reservation of slots corresponding to the one or more sidelink resource slots. The UE may then send the sidelink transmissions on at least one slot of the reserved slots. Other aspects and features are also claimed and described.
