Abstract:
A method and kit for intraosseous dental anesthesia that achieves enhanced anesthesia is provided. The method involves delivering 10% or more of a caepule of Articaine HCL with epinephrine to the level of the cortical plate of bone in both the mesial and distal areas of each tooth with a small gauge needle together with pressure and penetrating the cortical plate of bone with the small gauge needle. Where impenetrable, the Articalne HCL with epinephrine is allowed to passively pass through the cortical plate of bone. A method of intraosseous dental anesthesia in cases of acute pulpitis and for tooth extraction together with intraligamental injection technique is also provided.
Abstract:
A sealing system for two components which can be moved in relation to one another, in particular for a piston which can be moved in a cylinder chamber or for a piston rod, is disclosed. The sealing system has two or more moving seals. An ionic liquid is arranged between at least two of the moving seals.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for compressing a cryogenic media is disclosed. A compressor includes a compressor chamber surrounded by a cylinder wall in which a compressor piston is moved in a linear manner, a suction valve and a pressure valve, which are arranged in the region of the lower end position of the compressor piston, and a liquid chamber which at least partially surrounds the compressor chamber. The cylinder wall defines at least one opening, which corresponds to the liquid chamber, and at least one opening, via which the gaseous medium can be extracted from the compressor chamber, where the openings are located at points on the cylinder wall that are passed by the compressor piston.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for compressing a gaseous medium, specifically hydrogen, is disclosed. Compression is managed by a reciprocating piston compressor, where the piston or pistons of which have a dynamic seal or dynamic seals. A graphite-bearing medium is supplied to the cylinder chamber or chambers before and/or during compression, where the graphite-bearing medium is configured such that it settles on the dynamic seal or seals. The reciprocating piston compressor has a means to supply/introduce the graphite-bearing medium into the cylinder chamber or chambers.
Abstract:
A method of broadcasting product-recall advisory alerts via communications networks where a central notification computer is provided to broadcast advisory alerts to electronic device addresses stored in a subscriber database in a text, oral, pictorial, and computer retrievable format. The subscriber database contains subscriber data sets which each include the electronic device address, subscriber year of birth, and at least one geographic location associated with the electronic device address. When an advisory alert is initiated due to a product-recall, the affected subscribers are determined by geographic area, age, recreational activities, elderly parents, or other demographics is determined, and a geographic area defined by a perimeter is associated with the advisory alert. An algorithm retrieves addresses of the electronic devices associated with affected subscribers and the advisory alert is transmitted to the electronic device addresses.
Abstract:
A device and method for broadcasting advisory alerts via the Internet including a central notification computer which is operable to broadcast advisory alerts to electronic device such as Internet Protocol Televisions. The advisory alerts are sent to electronic device addresses stored in a subscriber database in a computer retrievable format. Teh subscriber database contains subscriber data sets which each include the electronic device address and at least one geographic location associated with the electronic device address. When an advisory alert is initiated, the affected geographical location is determined and a geographic area defined by a perimeter is associated with the advisory alert. An algorithm retrieves electronic device addresses associated with the geographic areas within the perimeter and the advisory alert is transmitted to the electronic device addresses associated with the geographic areas within the perimeter.
Abstract:
In a wireless multi-hop network, in which data may pass from node to node through the network, a sleep/wake protocol may be used to reduce power consumption by placing various nodes into coordinated low power modes, and having the nodes wake up to maintain network connections and/or to pass data.
Abstract:
A method is disclosed for the introduction of a combustible medium, in particular a cryogenic medium such as hydrogen, into an internal combustion engine. According to the invention, the medium is heated before the introduction thereof into the internal combustion engine at least to ambient temperature, preferably to a temperature of at least 500° C., and introduced into the internal combustion engine at a pressure of between 100 and 500 bar. The heating of the medium is preferably achieved at least partly in heat exchange with the or an exhaust stream from the internal combustion engine.
Abstract:
A method for the reliquefaction of the gas phase occurring in a storage tank includes the step of warming, compressing, cooling and expanding a reliquefying gas stream after its removal from the storage tank against itself for the purpose of reliquefaction, wherein only a partial flow of the gas stream removed from the storage tank is fed to a compressor.
Abstract:
A method for cleaning objects in a pressure vessel with liquefied gases is provided. The gas liquefied under pressure is conducted into the pressure vessel. The temperature of the liquefied gas then, or beforehand, is lowered below the critical temperature of the gas and cleaning is performed at least primarily below the critical temperature and below the critical pressure of the gas. Carbon dioxide at temperatures between -20.degree. C. and +20.degree. C. is especially suitable. The mechanical interactions produced by the increased density and viscosity of the liquefied gas reinforce cleaning. Reduced solvent capacity does not influence the effectiveness of the cleaning. Textiles or components can therefore be cleaned at lower pressure and temperature.
