摘要： The present invention provides a playback apparatus for playing back one combination video by combining a broadcast video with any additional video not determined by a fixed position relative to the broadcast video. The playback apparatus comprises: a first receiving unit that receives, via a broadcast wave, a broadcast video composed of broadcast images, each broadcast image being a portion of a frame image among a plurality of frame images constituting the original video; a second receiving unit that receives an additional video composed of remaining images, each remaining image being the remaining portion of the frame image; an arrangement information acquiring unit that acquires arrangement information indicating an arrangement of the broadcast image and the remaining image in the frame image; and a playback unit that reproduces and plays back the frame images by arranging the broadcast images and the remaining images based on the arrangement information.

摘要： A video processing device 21 receives a data broadcast and video data for 3D display, the video data having a display position and depth set according to objects therein displayed in 3D, and object information indicating the display position and depth for data broadcast images when displayed in 3D. A data broadcast processor 206 acquires position information indicating the display position from BML. An offset acquirer 207 acquires an offset value corresponding to the display position from the offset information. A right-view data broadcast image generator 208 and a left-view data broadcast image generator 209 generate respective right-view data broadcast images and left-view data broadcast images using the offset value so acquired.

The Interactive Graphics Decoder 13 then executes a command corresponding to one of the plurality of Buttons on the Page, to thereby perform (1) a control of switching the Page to another Page and (2) a control of specifying a Button to be set in a selected state on the other Page. A judgment is made as to whether a button number of the specified Button is invalid. If the button number is invalid, an alternative value is written in a status register.

The plurality of predetermined conditions include (a) a condition that a playback apparatus has a capability of playing the elementary stream, (b) a language attribute of the elementary stream matches a language setting of the playback apparatus, and (c) a channel attribute of the elementary stream is surround sound and the playback apparatus has a surround output capability. The playback apparatus assigns a priority to each elementary stream based on which conditions the elementary stream satisfies, selects an elementary stream having a highest priority, and plays the selected elementary stream.

摘要： Recorded on the recording medium (BD-ROM) is an AV stream that is obtained by multiplexing a video stream and one or more audio streams. MOVIE objects are scenarios showing playback procedures of video data described using playback device-oriented commands. In addition to the MOVIE objects, enhanced-mode scenarios (Java and WebPage objects) are also recorded on the recording medium. These enhanced-mode scenarios, each of which is described in the Java language or a markup language, show control procedures with respect to playback devices. The Java and WebPage objects are capable of taking over register setting values set by MOVIE objects, and extracting parts of video data played by MOVIE objects.

摘要： Disclosed is a playback device capable of seamlessly playing back 3D and 2D videos. The playback device plays back 3D video streams including a base-view video stream and a dependent-view video stream. When performing stereoscopic playback using the 3D video streams, the playback device outputs picture data pieces obtained by decoding the base-view video stream and the dependent-view video stream to a display device. When performing 2D playback using the 3D video streams, the playback device outputs each of picture data pieces obtained by decoding the base-view video stream to the display device twice in succession. This way, an output frame rate at which the 2D playback is performed matches an output frame rate at which the stereoscopic playback is performed.

摘要： The present invention is a BD-ROM having AVClips and PlayList information pieces, which are playback paths for the AVClips, recorded thereon. In addition, the BD-ROM also has multiple playback paths and dynamic scenarios recorded thereon. The dynamic scenarios instruct a playback device to play a digital stream using the playback paths. The dynamic scenarios include selection procedures (IF-statement blocks) which cause the playback device to compare a constant and a register-stored value indicating a user's age set on the playback device, (PSR(13)), and to select a playback path from among the multiple playback paths according to the result of the comparison.
