摘要: A magnetic head comprises a head base (56), and a pair of magnetic head chips (57, 58) of different azimuth angles (.theta..sub.1, .theta..sub.2) disposed on the head base (56). The pair of magnetic head chips (57, 58) are disposed in a stepped arrangement with respect to the direction of arrangement of tracks on a magnetic recording medium with a step (DA) substantially equal to the pitch (P) of tracks on the magnetic recording medium. The gap distance (GL) between the magnetic gaps of the magnetic head chips (57, 58) is shorter than the sum of the step (D) between adjacent tracks and the length (L) of interblock gap regions between video signal regions and audio signal regions arranged along the direction of the movement of the magnetic head. The magnetic head permits satisfactory audio signal after-recording and extended recording and reproducing of digital video signals on the magnetic recording medium even if the magnetic recording medium is a narrow magnetic tape of 8 mm or less in width.

摘要: In a video signal reproducing apparatus for converting a first video signal having a first field frequency to a second video signal having a second field frequency, there are provided a tape scanning device which is made movable in a direction perpendicular to the recording track on a tape, a system for controlling the speed of the scanning device, a system for shifting the scanning device in the aforesaid direction according to the difference between the first and second field frequencies, in order to skip or repeat selected fields so that the video signal is reproduced with the second field frequency. Also provided is a system for converting the number of lines contained in one field of the first video signal. In the above converting system there is included a memory, and the first video signal is written into the memory and read out therefrom so that a predetermined number of lines of the first video signal are discarded or repeated and the reproduced video signal has the required number of lines for each field of the second video signal.

摘要: In a recording and reproducing apparatus in which a video signal is recorded by at least one rotary head in successive parallel tracks on a recording medium while the latter is being driven at a predetermined or standard speed in a direction to which said tracks are skewed, and in which the recorded video signal is reproduced by the rotary head repeatedly scanning the recording medium while the latter is selectively driven at the standard speed, as in the normal reproducing mode, or at an arbitrary speed other than such standard speed, for example, at zero speed for the still-motion reproducing mode, or at speeds less than and greater than the standard speed for the slow-motion and quick-motion reproducing modes, respectively; a variable delay circuit is operative during reproducing with the recording medium being driven at an arbitrary speed other than standard speed for variably delaying the video signal reproduced by said rotary head, and a control circuit controls the amounts by which the variable delay circuit delays the reproduced video signal in accordance with the arbitrary speed to cause fields of the reproduced video signal which are contiguous or next adjacent in point of time to be continuous in the delayed video signal and to contain respective horizontal synchronizing signals which are in predetermined phase relationships to each other, that is, precisely in phase or out of phase by one-half horizontal period, as when even- and odd-numbered fields are to be interlaced.

摘要: OBJECTTo provide a hydraulic lash adjuster capable of retaining a large amount of hydraulic oil, in a reservoir communicated with a high-pressure chamber when the engine is stopped.MEANS FOR SOLVING THE PROBLEMA hydraulic lash adjuster including: a cylindrical body (24) having an upper open end, a closed bottom, and a second oil supply hole (27a) formed in the sidewall of the cylindrical body; and a plunger having a top end serving as a plunging end, a sidewall, a bottom end, a high pressure chamber (29) at the lower bottom, and a first oil supply hole (24b) formed in the sidewall, the plunger being slidable on the inner wall of the body. The plunger has a reservoir (28) that communicates with an external oil supply line (32) via the first oil supply hole (24b) and the second oil supply hole (27a). The lash adjuster is provided with a check valve (40a) for opening the oil supply hole (24b) by the oil pressure led from an external oil passage (32) to the oil supply hole (24b). The check valve (40a) is arranged in an annular communication passage (T) formed between the sidewalls of the plunger (26) and the body (24) for communicating the oil supply hole (27a) with the oil supply hole (24b). Leak-down oil is recycled while the engine is in operation. When the engine is stopped, the check valve (40A) closes the oil supply hole (24b). Accordingly, a large amount of hydraulic oil is stored in the reservoir (28) communicated with the high pressure chamber (29), with the oil level H in the reservoir (28) never being lower than the open end of the body (24).

摘要: A hydraulic transmission (21) has an electric actuator (86) for changing its output/input rotation speed ratio. A controller (90) of the actuator memorizes a command current value to the actuator supposing that load is not applied on the hydraulic transmission, and calculates a value of load applied on the hydraulic transmission by calculating a difference between an actual command current value to the actuator and the memorized command current value. A command current value is compensated based on the value of load, and the actuator receives feedback to be controlled. A vehicle may have a differential mechanism (10), which combines rotation powers on input side and output side of the hydraulic transmission. A detector (82) detects rotation speed of a main speed change output shaft (27) serving as an output shaft of the differential mechanism. If the detected rotation speed differs from target rotation speed of the shaft (27) determined based on operation of a speed change operation tool, the actuator is forcedly controlled. This difference is supposed to be caused by load applied on the hydraulic transmission, whereby the load is calculated.

摘要: A luminescent display device is provided in a viewfinder device having a viewfinder window for observing an object. The luminescent display device has a substrate a first electrode, an organic layer arranged in sequence on or above the substrate. A sealing member is disposed above the substrate. The organic layer and the first and second electrodes are disposed in a sealed space between the sealing member and the substrate. An absorbent is disposed separately from the substrate within the sealed space, so that the organic layer is interposed between the substrate and the absorbent member.

摘要: A unit quantity of electricity is input to each pixel of a plurality of pixels according to image data so that the each pixel emits a predetermined light. The luminance of the predetermined light per unit quantity of electricity is smaller as electric resistance value of each pixel become larger. A high resistance pixel having a relatively high electric resistance value or a low resistance pixel having a relatively low electric resistance value is detected among the plurality of pixels. The unit quantity of electricity is adjusted for at least one of the high resistance pixel and the low resistance pixel.

摘要: A recording and reproducing apparatus according to the invention has: at least a pair of rotary heads having different azimuth angles; a run controller for controlling the run of the magnetic tape; and a recording timing controller for controlling so that the recording by the rotary heads is performed at the first period when digital data having a first data rate is inputted, wherein the digital data is recorded on the magnetic tape at a recording timing. The recording and reproducing apparatus also has a memory for storing the digital data which is supplied from the outside, a reader for reading the digital data stored in the memory, and a signal processor for executing a predetermined process to the digital data read from the memory. When digital data having a second data rate which is different from the first data rate is inputted, the recording timing controller and the reader execute respective processes at an operating speed based on the ratio of those rates and the run controller controls the speed of the magnetic tape based on the data rate ratio.
