Abstract:
The invention discloses a method for implementing an online secure payment, which comprises steps of: transmitting to a dedicated operating system a secure payment request page for goods which is generated in a general operating system; and completing a payment operation in the secure payment request page of the dedicated operating system, after switching from the general operating system to the dedicated operating system. The invention further comprises a client system for implementing an online secure payment. In the invention, the general operating system for general operations is distinguished from the dedicated operating system for secure payment operations, and the security for the network payment is further enhanced by configuring the firewall and monitoring processes in the dedicated operating system. Furthermore, it is not necessary to make any modification on the existed network transaction system when the technical solution of the present invention is applied, the cost may be reduced and the technical solution of the present invention is facilitated to be deployed and spread.
Abstract:
The disclosure contained herein provides compounds and methods for identification of compounds that agonize or antagonize the function of USP14, a member of the ubiquitin-specific processing protease (UBP) family. Over-expression or gain-of-function of UBP's contributes to a range of diseases such as cancer, thus inhibition of USP14 by antagonists may provide a strategy for therapeutic intervention. Loss-of-function or reduced expression of UBP's, or reduced expression of the proteasome, contributes to improper synaptic activity and neurodegenerative diseases, thus activation of USP14 by agonists may provide a strategy for therapeutic intervention.
Abstract:
The compounds of the present invention are represented by the following aryl- and heteroaryl-substituted tetrahydrobenzazepine and dihydrobenzazapine derivatives having formulae I(A-E) and formula (II): where the carbon atom designated * is in the R or S configuration, and the substituents X and R1-R9 are as defined herein.
Abstract:
The present invention provides stable glycosaminoglycan (GSG) structures and methods of use of such GAG structures. These structures comprise a core of free GAG, a coating of crosslinked GAG surrounding the core, and a layer of a positively charged moiety surrounding the crosslinked GAG layer. These GAG structures provide improved stability, both in in vivo and external use. Furthermore, resurfacing of the structures provides improved cell adhesion and thus improved delivery of the GAG into living cells and tissues.
Abstract:
A breast pump including a container, a host unit disposed above and communicating with the container, an electric heating cup disposed at the front end of the host unit and communicating with the container, an electric heating element, and heat insulation. The electric heating cup includes an inner cover and an outer cover which are integrated. The electric heating element and the heat insulation are disposed between the inner cover and the outer cover. The heat insulation is disposed between the electric heating element and the outer cover. Positive and negative electrodes of the electric heating element are connected to conducting plates disposed in the inner side of the outer cover via connection wires. The conducting plates extend to the outer side of the outer cover and are in electric connection to contact chips disposed at the lower front end of the host unit.
Abstract:
An electrochemical desalination system includes a first and a second electrochemical device and a controller. The first and second electrochemical devices each comprises a electrochemical desalination module comprising at least one pair of electrodes and a compartment between each pair of electrodes for receiving an electrolyte solution. Each of the first and second electrochemical desalination devices comprises a plurality of successive operation cycles. Each cycle comprises a charging mode of operation for charging each pair of electrodes and for adsorbing ions in the electrolyte solution on the electrodes, and a discharging mode of operation for discharging the pair of electrodes and for desorbing ions from the pair of electrodes. The controller is configured to control the system that the first and second electrochemical desalination devices have interleaved charging and discharging modes of operation. One of the first and second electrochemical desalination devices is in a discharging mode and the at least one pair of electrodes release electrical current, while the other of the first and second electrochemical desalination devices is in a charging mode of operation and receives the electrical current released from said one of the first and second electrochemical desalination device.
Abstract:
A wet spinning process for forming a tubular fiber membrane is provided. The tubular fiber membrane has a nanoporous skin layer and a microporous lumen layer. The skin layer defines an outer surface of the fiber membrane and the lumen layer defines a lumen surface of the fiber membrane. The pores in the skin layer may have an average pore size of less than about 7 nm, and pores in the lumen layer may have an average pore size of from about 0.5 to about 3 μm. The fiber membranes may be used in artificial renal proximal tubules, artificial kidneys, bioreactors, or fiber cartridges.
Abstract:
Embodiments disclosed herein relate to diffusing light of a multi-mode laser. In one embodiment, the multi-mode laser projects a plurality of modes of light and a diffuser reflects the plurality of modes of light to output a single lobe of light.
