Abstract:
A rehabilitation system that combines robotics and interactive gaming to facilitate performance of task-specific, repetitive, upper extremity/hand motor tasks, to enable individuals undergoing rehabilitation to improve the performance of coordinated movements of the forearm and hand is disclosed. More specifically, the rehabilitation system includes a two degree-of-freedom (DOF) robotic, upper limb rehabilitation system and interactive gaming hardware that is coupled to a computer, to provide a virtual reality-like environment.
Abstract:
Apparatus for exercising a person's balance control, the apparatus comprising: a motion stage operable to displace an object mounted thereto; a treadmill mounted to the stage and comprising a belt having a runway surface on which a person using the treadmill stands, walks and/or runs; and a controller that controls the motion stage to provide a displacement of the treadmill and thereby the treadmill runway surface.
Abstract:
A system for processing biological data is provided and includes a monitoring device configured to receive biological data responsive to a living being. The system also includes an interface device communicated with the monitoring device to receive the biological data. Furthermore, the system includes a data transfer device, configured to receive the biological data from the interface device and communicate the biological data to a processing device for processing. Additionally, a method for processing biological information is provided, wherein the method includes receiving biological information from a monitoring device responsive to a first party and responsive to an exercise regime and processing the biological information to generate resultant information responsive to at least one physical characteristic of the first party.
Abstract:
A system and method of providing an interactive training program by monitoring a user's actions is disclosed. A user is prompted through the interactive training program to perform certain movements, the user's movements are monitored relative to the prompted movements, and feedback is provided to the user through the program.
Abstract:
A physical exercise apparatus comprises a mat/cushion device and accessories designed for fitness interactivity using an array of variations of graphics specifically placed on the mat. The locations of the graphics are provided as an aid to guide proper body positions or postures, placement and alignment in yoga and physical exercise, and for the use of creative sequencing of movement, proper technique, and body mechanics. The apparatus is a foundation and map for physical exercise programs, games, interactive play, physical therapies and methods. The apparatus contains graphics with anthropometric measurements that may be synchronized with instruction, audio and/or video displays, and/or video games containing and delivering corresponding graphics for body placement and timing. The method through instruction and gaming can be delivered auditorially and/or visually, through interactive multimedia systems, on a timed and/or touch sensitive system, as well as an array of different technologies such as the internet.
Abstract:
A support for a bicycle includes a front unit, a rear adjust unit, a front roller unit, a rear roller unit and a connection unit. Different sizes of bicycles can be connected to the support. The rear adjust unit, the front roller unit and the rear roller unit are adjustable to obtain different operation modes. The support is equipped with sensing system to be cooperated with software and hardware so as to perform as a video game.
Abstract:
There is provided a controller for a display device, the controller comprising a processor configured to receive an indication of the orientation of a user of the display device; receive an indication of the orientation of the display device; and generate a graphical representation of a user of the display device using the received indications, such that the orientation of the graphical representation of the user is adapted based on the orientation of the display device.
Abstract:
A system for use in playing a video game, the system acting to measure the position of transponders for testing and to train the user to manipulate the position of the transponders while being guided by interactive and sensory feedback. A bidirectional communication link to a processing system supporting the video game provides functional movement assessment.
Abstract:
A boxing or martial arts training and/or exercise device includes one or more punching pads locationally displaced and supported on a frame. Respective pads are positioned in support on the frame for punching and kicking. Each pad communicatively connects to one or more impact sensor. Each impact sensor communicatively connects to a control unit. The control unit is communicatively connected to a display. The impact sensor detects touches and taps to the pad and signals the control unit of the detection. Responsive to the detection, the control unit directs sequences shown in the display according to a fighting sequence, a training sequence, or other sequence. The control unit includes a user interface for selection among sequences, as well as for selection of various menu items for the respective types of sequences. The fighting sequence displays an avatar fighter in the display for selective responsive punch or kick to the avatar fighter to via a select pad or pads as directed in the display. The training sequence displays an avatar fighter and a graphic of the pad or pads in relational arrangement supported on the frame for selective responsive punch or kick to the pad(s) as directed in the display. The control unit of the device receives input from the impact sensors in response to each punch or kick, and directs next sequences displayed in the display accordingly, for example, by processing and display of informational content relative to punches and kicks. Selection among fighting or training sequences, and among other items, for directional input to the control unit for processing of fighting, training, and other sequence are made by touch or tap of a respective pad.
Abstract:
One embodiment of a wearable exergaming system comprised of control push-buttons and motion sensor worn by the player, communicating wirelessly with a portable computer/display placed on the fitness equipment in front of the player. This allows a fully portable exergaming system, that can be used on a number of different fitness machines, which is easily transferable from person to person and machine to machine. Other embodiments are described.
