Abstract: A system for rehabilitation is disclosed. The system for rehabilitation includes one or more electronic devices comprising one or more memory devices storing instructions, one or more network interface cards, and one or more sensors, wherein the one or more electronic devices are coupled to a user. The system for rehabilitation further includes one or more processing devices operatively coupled to the one or more memory devices, the one or more network interface cards, and the one or more sensors. The one or more processing devices are configured to execute the instructions to receive information from the one or more sensors. The one or more processing devices are further configured to execute the instructions to transmit the information to a computing device controlling an electromechanical device, via the one or more network interface cards.

Abstract: A system and method for facilitating physical therapy that may include a wearable display, wearable sensors disposed at varying positions on a user, a processor comprising executable instructions configured to provide a virtual reality environment, virtual characters, and therapeutic activities on the wearable display, wherein the virtual characters interact with the user to provide at least form feedback and positive reinforcement. A new instance of the virtual reality environment, with identifiable differences, may be generated in response to a measured completion or partial completion of a therapeutic activity. Changes in the virtual reality environment may offer users continued indications of progression throughout the duration of a physical therapy program. The system may include a connectable device comprising a display that duplicates a portion of the wearable displays image, enables interaction within the virtual reality environment, and allows for the selection and modification of therapeutic activities.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for generating a 3D avatar and object fitting recommendations using a biomechanical analysis of observed actions with a focus on representing actions through computer-generated 3D avatars. Physical quantities of biomechanical actions can be measured from the observations, and the system can analyze these values, compare them to target or optimal values, and use the observations and known biomechanical capabilities to initiate a payment transaction for an object offered by a merchant that corresponds with the recommendation.

Abstract: Example systems, devices, media, and methods are described for presenting a virtual guided fitness experience using the display of an eyewear device in augmented reality. A guided fitness application implements and controls the capturing of frames of motion data using an inertial measurement unit (IMU) and video data from one or more cameras. The method includes detecting exercise motions (with or without equipment) as well as detecting and counting repetitions. Relevant data about detected motions or equipment is retrieved and used to curate the guided fitness experience. A current rep count is presented on the display along with an avatar for playing messages, performing animated demonstrations, responding to commands and queries using speech recognition, and presenting guided fitness instructions through text, audio, and video.

Abstract: To assist a user in the correct performance of an activity, video data is acquired. A pose of the user is determined from the video data and an avatar is generated representing the user in the pose. The pose of the user is compared to one or more other poses representing correct performance of the activity to determine one or more differences that may represent errors by the user. Depending on the activity that is being performed, some errors may be presented to the user during performance of the activity, while other errors may be presented after performance of the activity has ceased. To present an indication of an error, a specific body part or other portion of the avatar that corresponds to a difference between the user's pose and a correct pose may be presented along with an instruction regarding correct performance of the activity.

Abstract: A device for visual walking includes an omnidirectional exercise machine and foot wearable devices. A method for visual walking is applied to the device for visual walking. When a user wears the omnidirectional exercise machine and uses the loading frame to adjust a height of the omnidirectional exercise machine, and wears the foot wearable devices to stand and run on a running plate, human body posture data is obtained by tracking a human body torso. Then displacement data of left and right feet is obtained by tracking the feet. A virtual position and a movement speed of the feet are respectively obtained according to the displacement data, the leg posture is inferred by the IK algorithm according to the virtual position and the walking action of the virtual character is controlled according to the human body posture data, the movement speed of the feet, and the leg posture.

Abstract: Described herein are systems and methods of guiding a user to achieve musculoskeletal counterpulsation. A method may include receiving a cardiovascular cycle signal from a first sensor; determining a heart rate of the user based on the cardiovascular cycle signal; receiving a rhythmic musculoskeletal activity timing signal from a second sensor; determining an actual musculoskeletal activity cycle (MSKC) to cardiovascular cycle (CC) timing relationship; comparing the actual MSKC to CC timing relationship to a target MSKC to CC timing relationship; providing a recurrent prompt to the user as a timing indication for performance of a rhythmic musculoskeletal activity to guide the user to achieve a musculoskeletal activity cycle rate (MSKR) that approaches the target MSKC to CC timing relationship; and altering a feature of the recurrent prompt based on a determined alignment between the actual MSKC to CC timing relationship and the target MSKC to CC timing relationship.
