Abstract:
A vehicle wheel comprising a rim, a hub, and a plurality of spokes extending with a span portion between the rim hub. The rim and/or hub constitutes a bracing element. A connecting element is connected to the bracing element and includes an external surface, an internal cavity. A spoke has a longitudinal axis and an external spoke surface that that overlaps the internal cavity in an overlap region, and a pre-formed lateral spoke surface. The connecting element is crimped to create a crimped joinder with the spoke such that the connector surface is pressed and plastically deformed to displace the internal cavity toward the spoke surface in the overlap region to cause a lateral connector surface to laterally overlap the lateral spoke surface to create an overlie engagement and/or to increase a lateral overlap between a lateral connector surface and the lateral spoke surface in an overlie engagement. The overlie engagement supports spoke tensile load.
Abstract:
A wheel with high strength flexible spokes of the present invention, including a rim and hub, and spokes between the rim and hub made of fibrous material that causes the spokes to be both lighter in weight and stronger than comparable steel spokes. The spokes are also flexible and resilient such that they can bend while retaining their integrity and strength. The wheel includes a nipple within the rim that receives the high strength spoke and allows for flexibility in adapting the spoke to wheels having differing shapes and sizes.
Abstract:
A method for assembling or disassembling spokes of a tubeless wheel includes following steps: selecting a rim, assembling an adaptor onto an assembling tool, assembling the adaptor to the position hole, assembling a spoke, assembling the spoke to the adaptor and disassembling the assembling tool from the adaptor. Therefore, a user can assemble or disassemble the spokes easily and conveniently.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a spoke for a spoked wheel. The spoke has an elongated body and a separate attached end piece on at least one of its ends. The elongated body is tubular and its end is fitted in a recessed bore of the end piece. The end piece is assembled by gluing. In addition, a plug blocks each end of the tubular body to force the glue to creep back while the end piece is being fitted. The invention also relates to a wheel and to a method for manufacturing the spoke.
Abstract:
An improved connecting system for a vehicle wheel spoke, including a spoke having an end portion, a span portion and a cross-section thereof, a connecting element; a bracing element such as a rim or hub, a tensile axis of applied tensile load along the span portion, and a longitudinal axis along the spoke. The connecting element is made of hardened molding material and the spoke is overmolded by the connecting element during solidification of the hardened molding material. The connecting element is joined to the spoke at an overmolded interface and the connecting element is connected to the bracing element.
Abstract:
A rim assembly includes a rim having multiple positioning portions extending from the inner periphery thereof and each positioning portion has a space defined therein. Each positioning portion further has an open side. Multiple spoke units each have the first end engaged with the space via the open side and are rotatable relative to the positioning portion. The second end of each spoke unit is connected with the hub. Each spoke unit has a securing member and positioning member which is mounted to the securing member. The securing member is connected with one end of a spoke and the positioning member positions the securing member and the spoke in the space. The spoke units are easily and quickly assembled with the positioning portions at the inner periphery of the rim.
Abstract:
A wheel rim structure includes a rim body having a plurality of assembling grooves equidistantly defined along an inner periphery thereof, each assembling groove having a receiving space defined at one end thereof and a positioning space defined at another end thereof, the receiving space communicating with the positioning space, a plurality of spokes having a connecting end formed at one end thereof and having a positioning block which is adjacent to the connecting end, a wheel hub having a plurality of second connecting holes equidistantly opened thereon. Under this arrangement, the connecting end is assembled into the receiving space and the positioning block is locked at the positioning space; another end of the spokes is assembled into the second connecting hole. Therefore, the spoke could be easily detached from the rim body or be easily assembled to the rim body via the assembling groove.
Abstract:
A bicycle wheel rim 1 includes a wall with two opposite radially outwardly extending annular sidewall parts 2a, b in which a plurality of slit shaped spoke mounting apertures are provided. Spokes 10 are provided which include a shaft 11 with a thickened head 12. Each slit extends both in a sideward and radial outward direction and includes a first slit part 15 and a second slit part 16, where the first slit part has cross sectional dimensions lying between the cross sectional dimensions of the shaft and the head, and the second slit part has cross sectional dimensions larger than the cross sectional dimensions of the head. The second slit part lies further radially outward than the first slit part, and the slit parts are both open in the direction of the central axis of the rim and in the direction of at least one of the sidewall parts of the rim.
Abstract:
A rim assembly includes a rim and multiple spoke units and each spoke unit has at least one fixing frame, a fixing member and at least one spoke. The at least one fixing frame is connected to the inside of the rim and has a passage through which the rod-like fixing member extends. The fixing member has at least one positioning hole so as to be connected to an end of a spoke. The other end of the spoke is connected to the hub. The fixing member is rotatable and swings relative to the at least one fixing frame to adjust the position for being connected with the spoke.
Abstract:
A Spoke Seal Protector that comprises a visually pleasing outer shape with an internal cavity, where the internal cavity has a lower portion shaped complimentary to the industry standard wheel adjusters on the wheel spokes of either motorcycles, bicycles, or other motor conveyances using spoked wheels. The Spoke Seal Protector is adhered onto the spoke adjustor and the internal cavity encases the spoke adjuster. Spring clips may be secured on the adjuster nut and frictionally bear against the spoke seal protector, or the spring clips may be secured on the spoke seal protector and frictionally bear against the adjuster nut. The spoke seal protector and adjustor nut may additionally have a knurled surface to provide additional fiction to secure the spoke seal protector to the adjustor nut. A common automotive or industry sealant can also be placed in the lower counterbored portion of the Spoke Seal Protector and “glue” the Spoke Seal Protector to the spoke adjuster nut and additionally create an environmental seal between the components.
