Abstract:
A caster wheel assembly includes at least one hub that has an annularly dished concave region disposed between a pair of cylindrical lips about its outer periphery. An elastomeric tread has a convex inner periphery that seats in the concave region of the hub. The interface between the hub and tread is parabolic in cross-section to manage load-inducted stresses in the tread. The parabolic cross-section is defined by the equation y=A*x2, where A is between 1.5 and 4. A cylindrical lip/pad interface is established between hub and tread on opposite sides of the parabolic interface to accommodate high load situations. A bearing is supported in the hub, and a bushing inside the bearing. An axle shaft passing through the bushing attaches the hub and tread to a support bracket for use in a wide variety of industrial applications.
Abstract:
A vehicle differential gear device comprises: a differential case; a side gear rot at ably supported in the differential case; a drive shaft engaged with the side gear as a separate body from the side gear; a disk spring disposed between the differential case and the side gear; and a collision shock-absorbing portion between the side gear and the differential case, the side gear moves in a direction approaching the differential case, the side gear elastically deforms the disk spring, the collision shock-absorbing portion causes a force to act in a direction separating the side gear and the differential case from each other after the disk spring starts deforming.
Abstract:
The invention comprises a caster having a yoke having a weight transferring tab and a wheel being rotatably attached to the yoke. The wheel has a groove for receiving the weight transferring tab. The tab transfers the weight of a load applied to the yoke to the groove. The caster includes various accessories, such as various stem, wheel, brake, and axle/hub configurations.
Abstract:
A vertically-adjustable caster wheel apparatus for use on a forklift truck, material handling cart, and the like. The caster wheel apparatus of the present invention provides a yolk frame having a pivot pin connected to and extending through the yolk frame. A wheel frame has one end pivotally connected to the yolk frame and a second end rotatably connected to a wheel. An elastic member has a first retainer connected to one end of the elastic member and a second retainer connected to an opposite end of the elastic member, wherein the first retainer is connected to the pivot pin in the yolk frame to allow the elastic member to pivot with respect to the yolk frame. Means for adjusting the vertical height of the wheel is provided by adjusting the angle of the wheel frame relative to the yolk frame.
Abstract:
A caster includes a retaining portion, a caster main body, a wheel rotatably retained by the caster main body, a first lock mechanism having a first engaged portion formed on the retaining portion and a first engaging portion to be engaged with the first engaged portion, a second lock mechanism having a second engaged portion formed on an inner peripheral surface of the wheel and a second engaging portion to be engaged with the second engaged portion, an operation lever for operating the first lock mechanism and the second lock mechanism, and an elastic member configured to enable the operation lever to move to a lock position allowing engagement of the first engaging portion with the first engaged portion even when the operation lever is operated in a state in which the second engaged portion and the second engaging portion are not in phase with each other.
Abstract:
An apparatus includes a wheel having an axle, and a round disk connected to the axle. The round disk has a disk middle connected to the axle and a disk circumferential surface surrounding the disk middle. Further, a round ring having an inner ring surface is connected to the disk circumferential surface of the round disk. The round disk is positioned within the round ring. The round ring contacts the round disk along a first plane, and the axle is coplanar with the first plane. Additionally, the round ring has a ring circumferential outer surface having threads. A threaded cylinder having an inner threaded cylinder surface is connected to the threads in the ring circumferential outer surface. The round ring is positioned within the threaded cylinder. Further, a worm gear is positioned between the threaded cylinder and the round ring.
Abstract:
In a method of inspecting a wheel hub unit configured by attaching a rolling bearing. Which has an inner ring and an outer ring, to a hub wheel, an acoustic inspection dement is arranged so as to be in contact with an outer peripheral face of the outer ring, and the wheel hub unit (components except the outer ring) is rotated to measure an acoustic value of the outer ring and hence conduct inspection. When the wheel hub unit (components except the outer ring) is rotated, a preloading load that is equal to or higher than a load at which an axial internal clearance of the rolling bearing is a negative clearance is applied to the rolling bearing, and the axial internal clearance of the rolling bearing A is changed from a positive clearance before application of the load to a negative clearance after application of the load.
Abstract:
A rim assembly includes a rim having a first connection bridge and a second connection bridge, and two walls extend from two sides of the first and second connection bridges. The first and second connection bridges each have multiple installation holes. A pad unit includes multiple pads and each pad has a through hole. The pads are located on a surface of the first connection bridge and the through holes are in alignment with the installation holes. Multiple connection members each have a passage, the connection members respectively extend through the installation holes and the through holes. The spokes are securely connected to the passages. The thickness of the rim is thin and the pads reinforce the connection positions where the spokes are connected.
Abstract:
A carriage incorporating an articulated caster braking system is disclosed. The carriage includes a frame with a base section that pivots relative to the rest of the frame and pivotally attaches to caster wheels. The base section provides a walking-beam suspension for the frame by pivoting at a point between a pair of the caster wheels. The carriage also includes a brake assembly that is attached to the frame and restricts carriage movement by directly engaging the ground. The brake assembly includes a brake arm that engages the ground and redundant actuators for shifting the brake arm between engaged and disengaged positions.
