Abstract:
An apparatus and method for heating produced fluid from a well, the heating apparatus comprising a produced fluid pathway; a heat generation system comprising a diesel engine, a heated hydraulic fluid pathway, and an engine coolant pathway; and a heat transfer system disposed between the produced fluid pathway and the heat generation system to transfer thermal energy from the heat generation system to a produced fluid contained within the produced fluid pathway.
Abstract:
A system for decontaminating a medium. The system can include a medium having one or more contaminants disposed therein. The contaminants can be or include bacteria, fungi, parasites, viruses, and combinations thereof. A microwave energy radiation device can be positioned proximate the medium. The microwave energy radiation device can be adapted to generate a signal having a frequency from about 10 GHz to about 100 GHz. The signal can be adapted to kill one or more of the contaminants disposed within the medium while increasing a temperature of the medium by less than about 10° C.
Abstract:
A water filtrating system may include a plurality of filters vertically disposed inside a shell, which is used to protect the filters therein. The shell can be single-layered or multi-layered. In one embodiment, the water filtrating system may be coupled with an RO system having controls, a plurality of membranes. The water filtered by the filtering system can be further purified by the RO system. The present invention is advantageous because the filters are vertically disposed inside the shell, so the filters are protected from being damaged and able to survive extreme weather conditions and/or external environmental conditions such as moisture, vibration, shock, etc. Moreover, the size of the entire system is significantly reduced because the filters or filtering components are all vertically disposed inside the shell, so the user can use more than one systems to increase the water output or filtration efficiency.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for the treatment of water and, in particular, an apparatus and method which may be applied to fluids such as grey water to be treated prior to discharge. The invention is intended for particular use on marine vessels such as house boats to treat grey water which at present is discharged untreated.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the present invention relate generally to systems and methods for preventing mineral scale deposits in an aircraft water system, and more specifically, within devices and water transport systems, such as coffeemakers and other galley equipment, as well as the water lines themselves.
Abstract:
The invention described herein contains two aspects, usable together or separately, that address the needs in the art described above, namely a first aspect that relates to the provision of a transportable water purification system that can be contained on a passenger transport vehicle, and that can use, but does not require, continuous, real-time monitoring, and a second aspect that relates to the use of UV purification of the water as it is uploaded to the passenger transport vehicle after a single pass through the UV chamber.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the present invention provide systems and methods for point of use location treatment of potable water supplies on demand on board passenger vehicles, such as aircraft. The systems described generally provide increased safety features, alternate ultraviolet light sources, and reduced power consumption.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a chemical administrator which delivers a chemical solution into a water supply line for a water-consuming device, e.g., a toilet in a recreational vehicle, for the purpose of treating waste-water before it is disposed in a holding tank. The apparatus has a container which holds the chemical solution. It also has a chemical administering system which siphons the chemical from the container into the water supply line using a vacuum created by the water moving through it.
Abstract:
An anti-fouling system for offshore drilling structures which injects metallic ions into seawater pumping systems. An ion generator may be positioned at various positions including the strainer basket of one or more of the seawater pumps or at various positions in the system. As well, ion generators may be skid mounted and/or otherwise centrally located and connected by controllable valves to various treated water injection points, whereby the flow rates are determined and ion concentrations are maintained at desired levels throughout the system, regardless of different pumping rates.
Abstract:
A disinfection system for liquids is provided that features an irradiation chamber for accommodating a liquid to be disinfected. A UV-radiator with a cladding that is transparent to UV-light is arranged in the irradiation chamber such that the UV-radiation emitted by the UV-radiator may penetrate the liquid. A first UV-sensor is arranged in the irradiation chamber such that a first attenuation characteristic with respect to the UV-light emitted by the UV-radiator may be measured with the first UV-sensor, wherein the first attenuation characteristic comprises a first aging characteristic and a first liquid attenuation characteristic. A second UV-sensor is arranged in the irradiation chamber such that a second attenuation characteristic with respect to the UV-light emitted by the UV-radiator may be measured with the second UV-sensor, wherein the second attenuation characteristic comprises a second aging characteristic and a second liquid attenuation characteristic and differs from the first attenuation characteristic.
