    Abstract: A speed responsive system, particularly for motor vehicles, whereby the vehicle may be maintained at a predetermined speed. Voltages dependent on vehicle speed and rate of change of speed are compared with a reference voltage representing a desired speed and the resultant output is compared with a periodic signal to produce output pulses of constant frequency and of a width varying with the relative magnitudes of the input voltages. These pulses are applied to an electromagnetic valve which controls the admission of pulses of reduced gas pressure from the vehicle engine inlet manifold to a chamber of variable volume and the resultant movement of a wall of said chamber is employed to control the engine throttle.

    Abstract: An automotive speed control system employs a speed analog voltage generator that has a linear speed-voltage characteristic. The throttle position control voltage used to close the system''s throttle control servomechanism loop is made to produce a d-c voltage directly proportional to throttle advance. This arrangement provides a large dynamic control range at all vehicle speeds. Systems gain is varied in proportion to vehicle speed to provide a psychologically satisfactory dynamic performance at all speeds.

    Abstract: A speed regulating arrangement for internal combustion engines in which an electrical pulse generator is coupled to the crankshaft of the engine and is operated in accordance with the engine speed. The pulse generator applies its output to an electronic speed regulating circuit which, in turn, operates an electromagnet having a rotatable armature. The throttle flap of the engine is coupled to the armature and positioned in accordance with the signal output from the electronic speed regulating circuit. The latter has a series circuit of a monostable stage, a low pass filter, a regulating stage and a power amplifier.

    Abstract: A speed control apparatus for an automotive vehicle is disclosed. While the speed control includes mechanical actuated means to operate the throttle, electronic elements are provided to sense the speed of the vehicle and to store the voltage corresponding to the speed by means of a counting device. Means are also provided to cause the mechanically actuated means to adjust the position of the throttle to keep the speed of the vehicle at the desired value, and to deactivate the speed control apparatus upon depressing the brake pedal, and to reactivate the speed control apparatus when desired, and also to increase or decrease the desired speed.
