摘要: A startup and shutdown control for a cryogenic freezing tunnel for freezing food products in which the rate of flow of cryogen into the tunnel is normally regulated by a thermal regulator, including an auxiliary flow regulator for maintaining a predetermined flow of cryogen to the tunnel independently of the thermal regulator, a first startup interval device, comprising a counter responsive to movement of the tunnel conveyor, for actuating the auxiliary flow regulator to provide a constant flow of cryogen to the tunnel after a first startup interval measured from the initiation of movement of a supply of food products to the tunnel, and a second startup interval device, comprising a timer, to cut off the flow of cryogen via the auxiliary flow regulator after a second startup inverval. The control further includes a first shutdown interval device, which is also a counter, to cut off all cryogen flow to the tunnel after a first shutdown interval measured from the interruption of the food product supply, and a second shutdown interval device, a timer, to restore flow control to the thermal regulator after a second shutdown interval.

摘要: Freezing apparatus is described particularly useful for producing frozen pellets of a medium containing spermatozoa, for use in artificial insemination. The apparatus includes a freezing chamber having a heat-conductive removable freezing plate constituting the top wall of a compartment into which a cooling gas is fed from a liquified gas container. A valve in the gas feed line controls the amount of gas fed to the freezing chamber to produce a preselected temperature as preset by a controller, and an electrical heating element within the liquified gas container effects the drive of the gas from the container to the freezing chamber. The heat-conductive plate is formed with a plurality of recessed pockets in which the medium is introduced and freezes in the form of pellets.

The cooling unit includes a vessel filled with a cooling material (e.g., dry ice) and closed with a lid. One or more variable apertures of the cooling unit are operable to controllably release a chilled gas (e.g., CO2 gas) generated by the cooling material into the payload chamber of the vessel to cool the payload.

摘要: A system for controlling a temperature a within an interior volume of a cargo trailer adapted to transport perishable goods is described herein. The system includes a fluid distribution assembly and a monitoring system. The fluid distribution assembly is configured to selectively channel a flow of cryogenic cooling fluid into the cargo trailer interior volume to facilitate adjusting a temperature within the interior volume. The monitoring system includes at least one sensor for sensing an environmental parameter of the cargo trailer, and a controller coupled to the sensor and to the fluid distribution assembly. The controller is configured to receive a monitoring signal indicative of the sensed environmental parameter, determine an environmental condition of the cargo trailer as a function of the environmental parameter, and provide a notification signal if the determined environmental condition is different than a predefined environmental condition.
