    摘要: In a CW radar system for detecting motion behind a wall (12) involving modulation of the radar transmission, means (34) are provided to interrupt the CW wave when motion is detected and to use the same radar transmitter (30) to transmit a serial digital message to a remote monitoring receiver (34). The encoding can include a receiver wakeup message to turn on the receive only when motion has been detected. In one embodiment, a microprocessor (28) is used to detect when motion exists behind a wall and to provide a tailorable message to modulate the radar's transmitter in the period when the CW signal from the radar is turned off after the motion detector.

    摘要: A method for asynchronously transmitting bursts of data from a communications terminal to a burst radar transceiver is disclosed. The burst radar can transmit a plurality of bursts, each separated by an inter-burst interval. An inter-burst interval length of the burst radar transceiver can be established. A burst of data at the communications terminal can be formed having a terminal burst interval length less than half the inter-burst interval of the burst radar transceiver. The burst of data can be transmitted a plurality of times from the communications terminal to the burst radar transceiver.

    摘要: The invention provides a radar system capable of transmitting data communications concurrently with and on a non-interfering basis with the normal radar functions. A continuous-wave carrier frequency is generated and transmitted to perform the normal radar function such as the processing of doppler data. For data communication purposes, the carrier signal is pulse modulated at selected pulse repetition frequencies with the selected PRF transmitted as first-order sideband components of the fixed carrier frequency. PRF selection is made in accordance with input digital data. A remotely-disposed command link receiver processes the incoming carrier wave and its sideband components to reconstruct the information contained in the transmitted data rates. Sensitivity and optimum detection by the command link receiver is achieved in a special manner that includes a phase locking of the received carrier frequency to the generated carrier frequency.

    摘要: In order to consider an optimum control method and an optimum mounting method needed, a UWB having a communication function and a radar function are used. For an obstacle vehicle in front, the distance between two cars is measured using the radar function, and according to this distance, a hazard warning is issued to a driver or a pre-crash operation is carried out. Moreover, by informing its own position to each other between vehicles using the communication function, the distance to a vehicle near to the own vehicle is measured regardless of clutter, and according to this distance, a hazard warning is issued to a driver or a pre-crash operation is carried out. Moreover, the operating frequency and transmission power of a radar are changed based on its own location information, thereby reducing influence to and from other wireless system.

Each modulated timing pulse signal is transmitted over a respective uplink wireless channel. The transceiver further includes at least one uplink receiver, which is adapted to receive a respective one of the modulated timing pulse signals from the uplink transmitter and configured to supply an unmodulated timing pulse signal to a respective transducer. The transceiver further includes at least one downlink transmitter, which is adapted to receive an echo signal from the respective transducer, and is configured to extract envelope information from the echo signal and to transmit a modulated echo signal over a respective downlink wireless channel. The transceiver also includes a downlink receiver adapted to receive the modulated echo signals from the respective downlink transmitters.

An array of acoustic transducers which is disposed in the lower portion receives acoustic signals and transmits acoustic signals. A dome-shaped retro-reflective coating on the upper portion is vibrated for retro-reflecting impinging laser illumination as data signals in air. An array of photo-detectors on the upper portion are responsive to impinging laser control signals and/or signals which may be transmitted as acoustic signals in water.
