    摘要: Disclosed is a multistage electron collector for electron tubes. This collector comprises an imperviously sealed envelope subjected to vacuum with an input wall and a back. Within, there is a succession of electrodes and dielectric spacers. Two successive electrodes are insulated by a spacer of a first type in contact with the two electrodes and having no contact with the envelope. A spacer of a second type is in contact firstly with the electrode closest to the back and secondly with the back. Application to electron tubes, especially millimeter travelling wave tubes.

    摘要: In an electron beam tube such as a klystron, a vacuum seal comprises a ceramic cylindrical wall on which are brazed metal rings which are welded to flares and fixed to electrodes and of a collector. Ceramic rings and are located between the metal ring and the electrodes. The cylindrical wall includes inner flanges which overlap the inner peripheries of the metal rings hence reducing the likelihood of arcing occurring between them and other parts of the arrangement at different potentials. In other embodiments of the invention, the ceramic rings are extended to shield the inner edges of the metal rings or a separate ceramic tube is positioned within the metal rings to provided shielding.

    摘要: An electron beam catcher for velocity modulated electron tubes which is formed as a two multi-stage collector comprising a plurality of catcher electrodes 1 and 2 surrounding the electron beam and mounted so that one follows the other in the direction of the electron beam axis and the catcher electrodes are electrically insulated from each other and are surrounded by a metallic outer envelope 3. A plurality of semicylindrical insulating parts 4 and 4' extended in the axial direction and are mounted between the catcher electrodes 1 and 2 and the outer metallic cover or vacuum envelope 3 which is heated to cause it to expand and is then shrunk onto the insulator parts 4 and 4' such that the oblong insulator parts 4 and 4' are pressed against the catcher electrodes 1 and 2 and are tightly held by the metallic outer vacuum envelope 3. The electron catcher 15 particularly useful in high powered travelling wave tubes.

    摘要: A charged particle collector comprising a stack of apertured electrode plates which lie within an imaginary sphere is provided. The plate closet to a charged particle emitter forms a portion of the imaginary sphere and is at zero volts potential with respect to the emitter. The plate farthest away from the charged particle emitter is of conical shape with the apex pointing toward the emitter and includes a spike extending toward the emitter. The conical plate has either a negative or positive potential with respect to the emitter, depending on whether the charged particles are negative or positive. A plurality of intermediate apertured electrode plates are positioned between the plate which forms a portion of the sphere and the conical plate, each of the plates being at a slightly lower potential than the preceding plate moving in a direction toward the emitter. These intermediate plates approximate the shape of an equipotential line which would be plotted for the particular voltage applied to the plate.
