    摘要: In a method and apparatus for controlling the deployment of a towline connecting a mooring craft to an ejected object comprising the steps of monitoring velocity to determine when a point for optimum braking has been achieved and then engaging a brake system to retard deployment of the towline, a DC motor augments and controls the brake system. The DC motor further controls the retrieval of the object. A cutter mechanism uses a first blade to grip the towing cable to maintain tension thereon as a second blade cuts the cable. A spring biased boom in combination with spring biased fins on the ejected object rapidly deploys the object from its storage housing. A locking mechanism secures the deployment mechanism in a stable locked position upon the object reaching its fully extended position.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a film cutter assembly in which a blade housing slides along a pair of rails. The blade housing is formed of an upper portion for housing the blade. Either end of the upper portion has a rounded inclined shape from a bottom edge to form a sled shaped runner. The sled shaped runner extends beyond the blade such that the user is prevented from touching the blade. A lower portion of the blade housing slidables bilaterally in a cavity formed below the rails. A clearance is formed between the blade and the rails to allow the blade housing to easily slide over a film to be cut even if the film bunched or doubled over. The upper portion of the blade housing has a concave shape for allowing a user's fingers to easily grip the blade housing. Preferably, the rails are formed of a material which provides an attractive charge to attract the film to the rail and help hold the film flat before and after cutting. For example, the rails can be formed of flexible vinyl or acetal.

    摘要: A chopper for collated sheets of paper having a fixed blade and a pivotally movable blade for effecting scissors like chopping action. An electric motor drives a flywheel which is connected through a clutch mechanism to a crank arm which is in turn connected to the chopping blade. The clutch mechanism normally holds the chopping blade stationary until an electrical signal is sent to actuate the clutch permitting a single reciprocating movement of the chopping blade. A magnetic switch and time delay mechanism are provided to detect jamming of the chopping blade, and if jamming is detected, the motor is deactivated.

    摘要: A tube cutting apparatus of the type in which jaws carried by relatively reciprocal slides move into and out of clamping engagement with tubing to facilitate severing of lengths of tubing as the tubing is moving rapidly along its lengthwise axis. Each of the jaws is releasably secured to the respective slide by a cam pin which coacts with a cam surface on the jaw to bring an eccentric portion of the cam pin into wedging coaction with the cam surface on the jaw in response to rotation of the pin and firmly and wedgingly secure the jaw to the slide. The jaw may be removed from the slide by simply rotating the cam pin a fraction of a revolution, axially withdrawing the cam pin, and then lifting the jaw out of the slide. Replacement is accomplished by reversing this procedure.

    摘要: The subject piercing die is particularly adapted for piercing a hole in a blank having an open interior and an outer wall defining a closed figure. The piercing is done from the interior of the blank through the wall to the outside of the blank. The piercing die includes a base with a slide movably mounted on the base. A guide is movably connected to the slide to control movement of the slide to a straight line movement. A female die having a blank receptacle for holding the blank is mounted on the base. The female die has a cutting aperture extending through a portion of the female die and intersecting the blank receptacle. A male die is mounted on the slide and is positioned within the blank receptacle for mating with the cutting aperture to cut a hole in a blank positioned in the receptacle. The male die cuts a hole in the blank from the interior of the blank through the outer wall to the outside of the blank. A cam is connectable to the slide for moving the male die toward the female die to engage the blank and to cut the hole in the blank.
