Abstract: A physiological information processing apparatus including: a processor; and a memory that stores a computer-readable command. When the computer-readable command is executed by the processor, the physiological information processing apparatus acquires physiological information data indicating physiological information of a subject, acquires a value of a parameter relevant to an autonomic nerve function of the subject in each of first time intervals based on the physiological information data, acquires an abnormality index value indicating an extent of abnormality in the autonomic nerve function of the subject based on the values of the parameter acquired in the first time intervals respectively, and displays information relevant to the abnormality index value.

Abstract: Systems and methods for enhanced hearing protection and data recording are disclosed. Recorded data is analyzed to determine user compliance with standard operating procedures. Additionally, hearing loss is monitored using neurological response of the auditory system to environmental noise. Optional sensors such as temperature sensors, accelerometers, GPS sensors are used to correlate noise data with external events. An optional acoustic source may be used to identify unusual conditions such as ear drum perforations and capture information related to health of the tympanic membrane and external auditory meatus. The systems and methods may also be used to protect the hearing and utility of military working dogs.

Abstract: A method of surgically positioning an electrode array at a desired implantation location relative to a nerve. A temporary probe electrode is temporarily positioned adjacent to the nerve and at a location which is caudorostrally separate to the desired implantation location of the electrode array. The implanted position of the probe electrode is temporarily fixed relative to the nerve. During implantation of the electrode array, electrical stimuli are applied from one of the temporarily fixed probe electrode and the electrode array, to evoke compound action potentials on the nerve. Compound action potentials evoked by the stimuli are sensed from at least one electrode of the other of the temporarily fixed probe electrode and the electrode array. From the sensed compound action potentials a position of the electrode array relative to the nerve is determined.

Abstract: A system comprises a neuromonitoring system configured to generate nerve data regarding a state of a nerve of a patient during a surgical procedure on the patient. The system includes a robotic system configured to receive or generate, for the surgical procedure, location data that identifies a location of the nerve of the patient. The robotic system may cause the neuromonitoring system to be in either an active state or an inactive state based on the location data, where the active state is a state in which the neuromonitoring system provides the nerve data to the robotic system, while the inactive state is a state in which the neuromonitoring system does not provide the nerve data to the robotic system. The robotic system may further generate at least one control signal that implements one or more safeguards for the surgical procedure.

Abstract: In systems and methods for dynamically generating reference limits for use in a neuromonitoring system, a first set of neuromonitoring data from separate patient tests conducted by the neuromonitoring system is received. Each of the separate patient tests is associated with variables. Each of the variables is associated with a corresponding one of the first neuromonitoring data as metadata. The first set of neuromonitoring data is compiled with associated metadata into one or more reference limits. When neuromonitoring data is received from a second patient test, at least one analysis is applied to the second patient test using the one or more reference limits.

Abstract: A sensing electrode selection algorithm is disclosed for use with an implantable pulse generator having an electrode array. The algorithm automatically selects optimal sensing electrodes in the array to be used with a pre-determined stimulation therapy appropriate for the patient. The algorithm preferably senses stimulation artifacts using different sensing electrodes, and more specifically different sensing electrode pairs as is appropriate when differential sensing is used. The algorithm further preferably senses these stimulation artifacts with the patient placed in two or more postures. The algorithm processes the stimulation artifact features measured at the different sensing electrodes and at the different postures to automatically determine one or more sensing electrode pairs that best distinguishes the two or more postures given the prescribed stimulation therapy.

Abstract: Embodiments relate to implantable-lead devices that include one or more materials with altered morphology and methods for making and using the same. Specifically, the morphology of electrodes and/or one or more other implant-device materials can be textured to include micro- and/or nanoscale topographical features, which can reduce in vivo fibrotic response and thereby improve signal-to-noise ratios and short-term extractability of the devices.
