Abstract:
The present invention relates to a multifunctional reusable catalyst and to a process for the preparation thereof on a single matrix of the support to perform multicomponent reaction in a single pot. The multifunctional catalysts of the invention are useful for the synthesis of chiral vicinal diols by tandem and/or simultaneous reactions involving Heck coupling, N-oxidation and AD reaction of olefins in presence of cinchona alkaloid compounds both as an native one and immobilized one in the said matrix support. This invention also relates to a process for preparing vicinal diols by asymmetric dihydroxylation of olefins in presence of cinchona alkaloid compounds employing reusable multifunctional catalysts as heterogeneous catalysts in place of soluble osmium catalysts.
Abstract:
Disclosed are polymerization catalyst activator compounds which include a Group 13 atom, preferably boron or aluminum, bonded to at least one heterocyclic groups. The heterocyclic group preferably contains one or more heteroatoms selected from Group 15 and/or 16, and may be unsubstituted or substituted. Preferably, the heterocyclic ligand is substituted with a halogen atom or a halogen containing group, where the halogen is preferably fluorine. Also disclosed are olefin(s) polymerization processes utilizing the invention.
Abstract:
A reductive system including a silane, preferably PMHS, and an active zinc compound, which is monomeric and not a hydride, wherein a reduction of a carbonyl substrate to a corresponding alcohol is achievable.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a catalytic component for the polymerization of olefins combining a number of catalytic components for the polymerization of olefins and to a process for preparing it. The catalytic component according to the invention is obtained by impregnation of a prepolymer with a solution of a catalytic component for the polymerization of olefins. The invention brings about control of the combination of different catalytic components and provides for improvement in the control of the quality of the polymers manufactured by virtue of the catalytic action of the combined catalytic components. Another advantage of the invention is to be able to control the morphology and the particle size distribution of the polymers by choosing the morphology of a single catalytic component. The prepolymer and the polymer obtained from the catalytic component according to the invention are also subjects of the present invention.
Abstract:
A single-site olefin polymerization catalyst is described. The catalyst comprises an activator and an inorganic compound comprising iron and a tridentate N-(2-ethylamino)-2-pyridylmethanimino or N,N-bis(2-pyridylmethyl)amino ligand. The late transition metal catalyst is active in olefin polymerization.
Abstract:
The invention provides a supported chromium catalyst system comprising a chromium catalyst precursor bound via at least one heteroatom to a functionalised support, said heteroatom being connected to said support via an organic group.
Abstract:
Support within the disclosure of the present application can only be found for the treatment of the dehydrated silica catalyst carrier with a silazane compound and not with a silane compound. The search has therefore been restricted to silazane treated silica supports

Abstract:
A catalyst composition and process for preparing norbornene-type homopolymers or copolymers. The norbornene-type homopolymers or copolymers can be prepared using an in-situ catalyst composition including: (a) a transition metal compound of ML4, wherein M is a Group 10 metal and L is a neutral electron donor ligand; (b) a hydrocarbyl halogen containing a double bond or a triple bond; and (c) a salt of a non or weakly coordinative anion that can replace a halogen bonded to a metal. The catalyst composition is in a mixing state of components (a), (b), and (c), or in a mixing state of a reaction product of components (a) and (b) together with component (c).
