The tethermast and frag wall is self supporting, easily deployed, and may be used in connection with a structure or may be deployed stand-alone. A tether system for an air beam structure utilizing a flexible tethermast, an external frag wall or frag curtain, soft couplings, air beam slings, or combinations thereof to reduce the effects of pressure waves, such as blast waves, onto and into an air beam structure and any inhabitants.

摘要： A projector of multiple skewed light planes or sheets is located adjacent a vehicle to be protected and detectors are arranged to defect the penetration of the light sheets by an incoming object, with the time intervals between the piercing of the planes defining the path of the incoming object and its expected impact time. An array of bullet-firing barrels is arranged to project bullets in ah iron curtain under control of a fire control module that fires a round in a barrel above the projected flight path such that the round impacts the nose of the object and disables it. It is thus the piercing of the skewed light sheets mat provides information as to the impact point of the object as well as its time of arrival so that a round can be fired to intercept the object as it arrives at the iron curtain.

摘要： A typical inventive embodiment describes a tubular shape and comprises a rigid outer layer, an elastomeric middle layer and a rigid inner layer. The elastomeric material is a strain-rate-sensitive polymer (e.g., polyurethane or polyurea) having a Young's modulus of approximately 700-1000 psi at 100% strain, and strong strain-rate-sensitivity in approximately the 103/second-106/second range. By the time that the projectile reaches the rigid inner layer, a projectile that impacts the three-layer system (commencing at the rigid outer layer) is structurally and kinetically diminished in its destructiveness by the rigid outer layer together with the elastomeric middle layer. Furthermore, the elastomeric middle layer becomes more rigid during a brief period in which it absorbs energy from the projectile, then again becomes elastic in a manner formative of a membrane covering the rigid inner layer. The elastomeric membrane tempers leakage if rupturing of the rigid inner layer has occurred.

摘要： A portable paintball bunker for temporary deployment atop a playing surface of a paintball game field to provide a shelter for a player from being hit by a paintball shot from a paintball marker of an opposing player. The bunker includes an open perimeter frame assembly formed of straight tubular frame members including one central upright frame member, two diagonal upper edge frame members and two lower ground-supported frame members and connecting fittings for attaching ends of the tubular frame members together to define two substantially upright planar right triangular shaped perimeter frames having a common upright central edge therebetween defined by the central upright frame member. A flexible cover is also provided including two substantially right triangular panels having a common upright margin, each panel extending over one of the perimeter frames. Edge margins of the cover have longitudinal pockets formed to receive one corresponding frame member inserted therein whereby, on deployment, the cover is held and supported with the upright margin positioned against the central upright frame member. Each of the panels is also slightly larger than each perimeter frame causing each panel to sag slightly and to be somewhat untensioned whereby risk of damage caused by propelled paintballs striking thereagainst is substantially reduced.

摘要： Removable bulletproof apparatus for the back of the front seat of a vehicle includes a transparent panel which is secured to or disposed adjacent to the front seat of the vehicle and a flexible curtain is secured to the bottom portion of the transparent panel. Both the transparent panel and the curtain are bulletproof. The curtain may be easily installed and easily removed from the transparent panel. The curtain is made of layers of fibrous material, such as woven cloth, preferably of an aramid fiber, such as a "Kevlar" cloth, or "SPECTRA SHIELD" material. Wing portions may be secured to the curtain and extended to door posts to provide additional protection for the occupants of the front seat from bullets fired from the rear of the vehicle or from rearwardly of the front door.
