Abstract: Systems and methods to generate and transmit power waves are disclosed herein. An example method includes: transmitting, by one or more transmitters, one or more power waves to provide power. A first antenna of a first antenna array of one or more antenna arrays of a respective transmitter of the one or more transmitters is located at a distance from a second antenna of a second antenna array of the one or more antenna arrays such that power waves transmitted by the first antenna and the second antenna are directed to form a pocket of energy to provide power to the targeted electronic device. The respective transmitter determines the distance between the first and second antennas: based upon one or more parameters received in a communication signal from the targeted electronic device, and to allow a desired mutual coupling effect between the first and second antennas.

The magnetic body includes a first portion which is positioned in an outer side than an outline of one side of the conductive plate in the axis direction of the coil, and a second portion which is positioned in an outer side than an outline of the other side of the conductive plate in the axis direction of the coil. When viewing from the axis direction of the coil, the first and second portions are positioned on a side of the conductive plate where is opposite to a side which faces the coil.

Abstract: Exemplary embodiments are directed to wireless power transfer including generating an electromagnetic field at a resonant frequency of a transmitter to create a coupling-mode region within a near field of the transmitter during a synchronization portion of a time-multiplexed recurring period. During a power transmission portion of the recurring period, the electromagnetic field will continue to be generated when there is a receiver within the coupling-mode region, or the electromagnetic field will be disabled when there are no receivers within the coupling-mode region. Different segments of the power transmission portion are allocated to different receivers. The transmitter issues serial commands to the receivers by on/off keying the electromagnetic field. The receivers issue serial replies by changing the amount of power consumed from the electromagnetic field between two different states. The serial commands and serial replies are used to determine the number of receivers, their power requirements, and the allocation of segments.

The wireless power system may include inductive coils and RF antennas that are adaptively controlled and configured. A transmitter and/or a receiver may adaptively rotate, adjust orientation and/or location.

An electromagnetic wave with electric field intensity, magnetic field intensity, and power flux density per unit time which are transmitted from a power feeder are controlled, and the power storage means is efficiently charged using the electromagnetic wave in a short period of time.

Abstract: An optical energy transmission system having an energy-emitting unit is provided. The energy-emitting unit has a laser radiation source for generating an energy-transmitting laser beam and an aiming device for aligning the energy-transmitting laser beam relative to an energy-receiving unit which includes an optical/electrical converter, which converts the energy of the energy-transmitting laser beam into electrical energy. The converter has at least one converter element having a plurality of surfaces which reflect the energy-transmitting laser beam and which are arranged relative to one another such that the impinging energy-transmitting laser beam is deflected by one of the reflective surfaces to another one of the reflective surfaces. At least some of the reflective surfaces are formed by a conversion unit which reflects one part of the impinging laser beam and absorbs the other part thereof in a photovoltaic element, and in the process converts the optical energy into electrical energy.
