    摘要： A spoked wheel, especially for motor vehicles, with a hub and a unitary spoked-portion or spider leading from the hub to the rim of the wheel. The hub and spider-portion are independently formed from relatively thin-gauged sheet metal with the outer surface of the hub having alternating wall portions and protruding fingers which are welded respectively to the intersecting base and lower inside walls of each channel-shaped spoke to impart structural strength to the wheel. The outer end of each spoke is cornered and recessed to provide a greater surface area for welding the spoke to the wheel rim.

    摘要： An improved wheel assembly is provided for motor vehicles, and the like, and which includes a central spider formed of any appropriate material, for example, of cast aluminum alloy or other nonferrous material, and a rim of any suitable material, such as steel or equivalent material; and in which a portion of the peripheral surface of the rim is depressed into a cavity in the outer edge of the spider so as to hold the two components of the wheel in a rigid assembly. An improved method for fabricating such a wheel assembly is also provided.

    摘要： A rim for a vehicle wheel, including: an axial axis; a radial axis; a spoke bed wall having an outboard surface, an inboard surface, and a radial thickness; a spoke hole to receive a spoke having an outboard opening and a spoke hole axis. At least one of the inboard surface and outboard surface is radially variable to provide a first radial thickness region laterally surrounding said spoke hole and a second radial thickness region of reduced radial thickness relative to the first radial thickness region. The outboard surface includes a radially inwardly recessed surface within the first radial thickness region. At least a portion of the recessed surface is configured to provide a bearing surface for engagement with the spoke and to support of spoke tension forces.

    摘要： A bicycle rim structure includes a rim. The rim has two side portions, an inner annular portion, and an outer annular portion. The two side portions, the inner annular portion and the outer annular portion surround a hollow area. The inner annular portion has a thickness greater than that of the side portions to form an inner raised portion extending toward the hollow ara. An arc-shaped abutting groove is formed on the inner raised portion. The arc-shaped abutting groove is formed with a plurality of equally spaced spoke holes each configured to receive a spoke nipple. The spoke nipple has a head portion and a neck portion. One end of a spoke is connected to the neck portion. A surface of the curved abutting groove supports two sides of the head portion.
