The vehicle battery charger can be separate from the vehicle, can be at least partially integrated into the vehicle, can include a transmitter and/or a receiver capable of communication with a controller that is remote from the vehicle and vehicle charger, and can be controlled by a user or another party (e.g., a power utility) to control battery charging based upon a time of day, cost of power, or other factors.

摘要: An electric vehicle charging station (10) comprises a pillar (12) and a casing (14) for installing underground. The casing (14) has a base (26), a side wall (24) and a top (22) defining an inner space, an opening (28) being provided in the top (22) for receiving the pillar (12). The electric vehicle charging station (10) includes a power socket (30) for connection to a power supply and for receiving a power connector of an electric vehicle. The power socket (30) is joined to the pillar (12) and situated near a top end of the pillar (12), the bottom end of the pillar (12) is received in the opening (28) of the casing and the pillar (12) is movable between a retracted position for storing the pillar (12) within the inner space of the casing (14) below ground, and an extended position for supporting the power socket (30) outside the casing (14) above ground.

摘要: Electrified vehicle charging systems may be equipped with multiple charging interfaces. An exemplary charging system may include a charge adapter for allowing a single charge plug/connector/coupler to be split into multiple charge plugs/connectors/couplers for simultaneously utilizing each charging interface for charging a traction battery pack of the electrified vehicle. Use of the charge adapter can reduce charging times when only a single charge plug is available at a charging station.

摘要: A cable assembly includes a cable having a first end and a second end. The cable has an electric conductor and a cooling conduit, each of which extends from the first end to the second end. The cooling conduit is adapted to convey a fluid that cools the electric conductor. The cable assembly includes a leak detection module to detect a leak of the fluid from the cooling conduit. The leak detection module includes a power source to generate an input voltage signal which is applied at a first node contact with the fluid. The leak detection module includes a controller to monitor an output voltage signal at the first node and to detect a leak of the fluid from the cooling conduit based on the output voltage signal.
