Systems and methods use cameras to provide autonomous navigation features. In one implementation, a driver assist navigation system is provided for a vehicle. The system may include at least one image capture device configured to acquire a plurality of images of an area in a vicinity of the vehicle; a data interface; and at least one processing device. The at least one processing device may be configured to: receive the plurality of images via the data interface; recognize a curve to be navigated based on map data and vehicle position information; determine an initial target velocity for the vehicle based on at least one characteristic of the curve as reflected in the map data; adjust a velocity of the vehicle to the initial target velocity; determine, based on the plurality of images, one or more observed characteristics of the curve; determine an updated target velocity based on the one or more observed characteristics of the curve; and adjust the velocity of the vehicle to the updated target velocity.

A mobile device can use location fingerprint data received from a server to determine a location of the mobile device at the venue. The mobile device can obtain, from a sensor of the mobile device, a vector of sensor readings, each sensor reading can measure an environment variable, e.g., a signal received by the sensor from a signal source. The mobile device can perform a statistical match between the vector and the location fingerprint data. The mobile device can then estimate a current location of the mobile device based on the statistical match.

A technique for reducing interference in a GPS-equipped wireless device having a transmitter is provided. In doing so, a GPS signal is acquired, and it is determined whether the GPS signal contains valid GPS data, the GPS signal having a GPS frequency range. If the GPS data is not valid due to the noted second harmonic interference, the transmit power levels of the transmitter within different categories of frequency blocks (frequency blocks corresponding to the second harmonic of the transmit frequency of the device interfering with the GPS frequency range entirely, partially and only slightly) are selectively and iteratively determined. The power levels in these frequency blocks are iteratively and selectively reduced to help determine valid GPS data.
