Abstract:
A method for drying a wet CO2 rich gas stream from an oxy-combustion process that includes: compressing the wet CO2 rich gas stream to a drying process operating pressure, cooling the wet CO2 rich gas stream in at least one cooler, alternately drying the wet CO2 rich gas stream in at least one dryer which contains at least one desiccant bed and regenerating the desiccant bed by conducting a heated regenerating gas through the dryer in opposite direction to the flow direction of the wet CO2 rich gas stream, separating the dried CO2 rich gas stream in a purification process to a purified CO2 gas stream and a waste gas stream rich in nitrogen and oxygen, whereby the waste gas stream rich in nitrogen and oxygen is used as regenerating gas, and subsequently to the regeneration the dryer is purged at least once by a pressurized CO2 rich gas stream conducted from the compressor, and whereby the dryer is charged up to the drying process operating pressure with a pressurized CO2 rich gas stream conducted from the compressor before each drying process.

Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for welding rotors for power generation such as gas turbines, steam turbines, and generators having a plurality of rotor discs arranged along a rotor axis. The method includes providing said discs with a weld seam preparation. The weld seam preparation includes a root, a first, gap-like welding section adjoining the root in radial direction, and a second, gap-like welding section adjoining the first welding section in radial direction. The method further includes melting the root by means of a first welding process; making a weld in the first welding section by means of a second welding process; and filling up the second welding section by means of a third welding process.
Abstract:
A gas outlet monitoring system for a boiler system includes a gas probe(s) with a plurality of gas sensing locations wherein each location measures a plurality of parameters of the gas flow, such a oxygen concentration and temperature. The multi-sensor probe includes a tubular lance and a plurality of sensor pods spaced along the lance. Each sensor pod has an oxygen sensor disposed in a first port, and a first temperature sensor disposed in a second port. An enclosure is disposed at one end of the tubular lance. The enclosure has a respective pressure sensor for each oxygen sensor port. A plurality of first tubes passes through the lance between the enclosure and the first port of a respective sensor pod to provide a gas to the respective first port for the purpose of providing cleaning air. A plurality of second tubes passes through the lance between the enclosure and the first port of a respective sensor pod to provide fluid communication between gas in the respective first port and the respective pressure sensor. One pressure sensor is provided for each oxygen sensor.
Abstract:
An apparatus is mountable to a duct having a cross-section, for determining parameters of a flowable medium flowing through the duct. The apparatus includes a mounting attachment having a conduit member, and at least one combination of multiple sensing members configured to the conduit member. The conduit member may be disposed entirely within the duct such that the multiple sensing members are located within the duct establishing direct contact with the flowable medium. The multiple sensing members include oxygen and temperature sensing elements respectively, to determine parameter such as oxygen level in the flowable medium, and temperature of the flowable medium. Several such apparatus may be mounted in the duct across the cross-section to define a grid to determine said parameter at various locations across the cross-section.

The invention refers to method for electrochemical reduction of CO2 in an electrochemical cell having a cathode and an anode. The method comprises: at the cathode, reducing the CO2; at the anode, oxidizing a first hydrocarbon generating a second hydrocarbon.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a diffuser for the exhaust section of a gas turbine, comprising at least one cone extending along a machine axis and bordering a channel for an exhaust flow, whereby said at least one cone has a wall with an internal structure comprising a plurality of longitudinal liner segments extending in an axial direction and establishing a conical liner being in contact with the exhaust flow, a support structure coaxially arranged with respect to said conical liner in a predetermined distance, and an insulation filling the space between said conical liner and said support structure. A smooth inner surface and a safe compensation of different thermal expansions are achieved by having each of said liner segments fixed in a lateral direction at one fixing point, and having each liner segment supported at a plurality of distributed points outside said fixing point by means of supporting elements, which are confined to the space between said conical liner and said support structure and allow for a lateral thermal expansion of the liner segments.
Abstract:
A spray dryer disperser 24, 26, 28, 30 is described for use in a spray dryer absorption (SDA) system 18 for flue gas FG impurity reduction. As such, the spray dryer disperser 24, 26, 28, 30 disperses absorbent liquid or reagent slurry droplets into contact with a hot flue gas FG stream containing gaseous impurities to produce a flue gas FG stream of reduced impurity content and dry powder end products EP. The spray dryer disperser 24, 26, 28, 30 is useful in larger capacity SDA vessels 22 of approximately 12 to 22 meters in diameter or larger, to avoid disperser 24, 26, 28, 30 shroud 34a scale deposits, to avoid reagent slurry spray cloud suppression, to avoid vessel 22 wall 22b scale deposits and to achieve increased droplet rotational momentum for increased droplet flue gas FG penetration for efficient impurity reduction.
