Abstract:
An apparatus and method for video imaging the spatial response of radiation-responsive devices, such as photomultiplier tubes. The apparatus probes the device under-test with an array of radiation emitting elements, such as light-emitting diodes, programmed with a scanning sequence such that the device under-test output response, e.g., the anode current of a photomultiplier tube, may serve as a video signal to a video display device such as a television or monitor. A video image so produced provides a map of the spatial response of the radiation-responsive device which may indicate perturbances, flaws, and inhomogeneities in the spatial responsivity of the device.
Abstract:
The present invention provides methods for diagnosing mental disorders (e.g., psychotic disorders such as schizophrenia and mood disorders such as major depression disorder and bipolar disorder). The invention also provides methods of identifying modulators of such mental disorders as well as methods of using these modulators to treat patients suffering from such mental disorders.

Abstract:
A scheme for multi-frequency at-speed logic Built-In Self Test (BIST) is provided. This scheme allows at-speed testing of very high frequency integrated circuits controlled by a clock signal generated externally or on-chip. The scheme is also applicable to testing of circuits with multiple clock domains which can be either the same frequency or different frequency. Scanable memory elements of the digital circuit are connected to define plurality of scan chains. The loading and unloading of scan chains is separated from the at-speed testing of the logic between the respective domains and may be done at a faster or slower frequency than the at-speed testing. The BIST controller, Pseudo-Random Pattern Generator (PRPG) and Multi-Input Signature Register (MISR) work at slower frequency than the fastest clock domain. After loading of a new test pattern, a clock suppression circuit allows a scan enable signal to propagate for more that one clock cycle before multiple capture clock is applied. This feature relaxes the speed and skew constraints on scan enable signal design. Only the capture cycle is performed at the corresponding system timing. A programmable capture window makes it possible to test every intra- and inter-domain at-speed without the negative impact of clock skew between clock domains.
Abstract:
A gating circuit switches the responsivity of a photomultiplier tube between ON and OFF states by modulating the voltage bias of the one or more of its electrodes. The gating circuit capacitively couples a voltage pulse to the photocathode or other electrode of the photomultiplier tube in response to a low-voltage gating triggering signal. The voltage divider network and high-voltage power supply used to statically bias the photomultiplier tube also power the gating circuitry and source the gating voltage pulse, thus circumventing the need for a separate high-voltage power supply. The gating circuit represents a near-inconsequential burden on the power supply, as it draws practically negligible current from the voltage divider network. The electrode gating pulse characteristics, including rise- and fall-times, voltage swing amplitude and duration, can be modified by adjusting resistor and capacitor values and Zener diode characteristics of the gating circuit and voltage divider network. The circuit can also be used to gate related devices such as microchannel plates and image intensifiers.
Abstract:
A main engine electric start system for gas turbine propelled aircraft that employs a low-power AC electrical power system to serve as an independent grid to control the functions of induction-type dynamoelectric machines coupled to the main propulsion engines and APU as a starter or generator.
Abstract:
A starting system for starting the propulsion engines of gas turbine powered aircraft that combines power sources delivered by the APU so that essentially then entire power delivered by the APU for pneumatic, hydraulic and electric power is applied to corresponding starters on each propulsion engine during MES simultaneously.
Abstract:
Provided is a method, system, and program for managing a multi-page document. A plurality of input files are received including digital representations of multiple pages of a document. The content of each entire page is represented in a first representation format. The entire page content is capable of including content of a first content type and second content type. For each page of the document represented in the input files, a determination is made of regions in the page including content of the second content type. Each determined region in the page is processed to generate the content for each region in a second representation format. The content of the entire page in the first representation format and the content of each region in the second representation format is added to at least one output file. The output file is then stored.
