Abstract:
A method of presenting auxiliary data for an interactive recording medium is disclosed. In an interactive recording medium reproducing apparatus that reproduces A/V data and contents data recorded on an interactive recording medium and contents data provided by a contents providing server, the contents data provided by the contents providing server is presented appropriately according to the attributes of the contents data by using attribute information for the contents data.
Abstract:
A display device includes a display panel on which a plurality of pixels are arranged in a matrix in a first direction and in a second direction intersecting the first direction, and a lenticular sheet which is disposed above the display panel and includes a plurality of polygonal prism lenses that are arranged in the second direction. Each of the polygonal prism lenses extends in a third direction intersecting the second direction, and includes a plurality of flat surfaces or curved surfaces.
Abstract:
An image display apparatus is provided that can display one or both of 2D imagery and 3D imagery in respective but randomly selectable display areas of the apparatus. The apparatus a display panel, a driving circuit part, a polarization switch panel and a lens. The driving circuit part processes received frame image data representing two-dimensional (2D) imagery and three-dimensional (3D) imagery to thus provide the display panel with the processed frame image. The polarization switch panel is disposed above the display panel. The polarization switch panel is switched into a first polarization mode in correspondence with 2D imagery being displayed by the display panel and it is switched into a second polarization mode in correspondence with 3D imagery being displayed by the display panel. The lens is reacts differently to light rays having the effect of the first polarization mode imparted to them and to light rays having the effect of the second polarization mode imparted to them. More specifically, the lens strongly refracts light rays that are imparted with the second polarization mode (3D imagery light) and weakly or not at all refracts light rays that are imparted with the first polarization mode (2D imagery light). Thus, both the 2D image and the 3D image may be displayed on one screen.
Abstract:
A three-dimensional display device comprises a flat display panel and an image-converting sheet disposed on or above the display panel. The display panel comprises a matrix of unit display cells arranged as rows and columns and where the cells are spaced apart to have respective row and column direction pitches. The image-converting sheet comprises a plurality of inclined lenticular lenses where the inclination is set according to the row and column direction pitches so as to reduce perception of Moiré patterns when stereo-scopic images are projected through the image-converting sheet to an observer viewing the display panel as an upright panel having respectively different left and right stereo-scopic image projections.
Abstract:
A liquid crystal display (LCD) is provided that can improve lateral visibility while preventing a decrease in luminance. The LCD includes first and second gate lines which are arranged in parallel with each other and sequentially transmit a gate voltage; a data line which intersects the first and second gate lines and transmits a data voltage; a pixel electrode which is disposed in a pixel and includes first and second sub-pixel electrodes that are connected to each other through a first charge-sharing capacitor; a first switching device which is connected to the first gate line, the data line and the first sub-pixel electrode; a second switching device which is connected to the first sub-pixel electrode through a second charge-sharing capacitor; and a third switching device which is connected to the second gate line and the second sub-pixel electrode and is also connected to the first sub-pixel electrode through the second charge-sharing capacitor.
Abstract:
A display apparatus includes a plurality of pixel regions. Each of the pixel regions includes a first sub-pixel region, a second sub-pixel region and a boost capacitor. The first sub-pixel region and the second sub-pixel region are electrically connected to the boost capacitor. The boost capacitor causes voltages the first and second sub-pixel regions to be at different voltages to increase the viewing angle of the display apparatus. One electrode of the boost capacitor, a coupling electrode, is formed over a storage capacitance line made of an opaque metal such that an additional boost capacitor (Cboost) may be formed without decreasing the aperture ratio of the pixel region. Other features are also provided.
Abstract:
A semiconductor memory device has a single input terminal to select a buffer and includes input-output terminals, input-output buffers, a memory core, and a buffer selecting unit. The input-output terminals include address input terminals, data input-output terminals and an input terminal to select a buffer. The input-output buffers are coupled to the data input-output terminals respectively. The memory core is coupled to the input-output buffers through input-output lines. The buffer selecting unit generates a parallel buffer select signal based on an expected signal having a pulse stream, wherein the expected signal is provided via the input terminal to select a buffer in a test mode, and applies the parallel buffer select signal to the plurality of input-output buffers to select a corresponding input-output buffer. Hence, the semiconductor memory device may increase efficiency of a pin in a test device.

Abstract:
Provided is a pixel array of a three-dimensional image sensor. The pixel array includes unit pixel patterns each including a color pixel and a distance-measuring pixel arranged in an array form. The unit pixel patterns are arranged in such a way that a group of distance-measuring pixels are disposed adjacent to each other.
Abstract:
A stereoscopic image display apparatus includes a display panel and an image conversion sheet. The display panel includes a plurality of pixel units. Each pixel unit has a zigzag shape that extends in a first direction. The image conversion sheet includes a plurality of lens units. Each lens unit extends in the first direction and is disposed in a second direction different from the first direction. A plurality of the lens units is disposed in parallel with each other.
