Abstract: A mandrel for forming a stent with a tapered profile and one or more anti-migration features includes a first stent shaping segment having a first diameter, a second stent shaping segment having a second diameter less than the first diameter and a tapered segment disposed therebetween. A third stent shaping segment is releasably securable to the second stent shaping segment and has a third diameter greater than the second diameter. One or more movable pins are outwardly extendable from corresponding apertures formed within the tapered segment. An actuation element is engagable with the first stent shaping segment and includes a tapered surface configured to engage the one or more movable pins and support the one or more movable pins extended from the corresponding apertures.

Abstract: An example medical device for treating a body lumen is disclosed. The medical device includes an expandable scaffold including first and second regions, each of the first and second regions include a plurality of interstices located therein. The medical device also includes a covering spanning each of the plurality of interstices of the first region. The second region is free of the covering. A biodegradable gripping material is disposed on an outer surface of the covering. Further, the expandable scaffold is configured to shift from a collapsed state to an expanded state and the second region is configured to contact an inner surface of the body lumen in the expanded state. Additionally, the gripping material is designed to initially prevent migration of the expandable scaffold upon implantation in the body lumen until the second region is secured to the inner surface of the body lumen.

Abstract: An illustrative endoluminal implant having an elongated tubular member. The elongated tubular member having a stent and a retrieval suture interwoven with the stent. The retrieval suture including a first suture loop extending about a circumference of the stent and adjacent to a suture retrieval loop and a second suture loop extending about a circumference of the stent and longitudinally spaced from the first suture loop. The first and second suture loops coupled via one or more interconnecting segments. At least one of the first or second suture loops has an arc length of less than 270° of the circumference of the stent.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates generally to stents, systems, and methods for gastrointestinal treatment. In some embodiments, a stent may include a tubular scaffold having a first end opposite a second end, wherein a lumen extends between the first and second ends. The tubular scaffold may include a flared section and a medial section extending from the flared section, wherein a first diameter of the flared section is greater than a second diameter of the medial section. The stent may further include a liner extending partially along a surface of the tubular scaffold, wherein the liner is spaced from an anchoring region of the flared section to promote tissue ingrowth with the flared section.

The second end of the first drawstring is manipulatable proximate the proximal end of the tubular framework to deflect the tubular framework into a curved configuration.

Abstract: An endoprosthesis may include an expandable framework including an anchoring portion and a body portion extending axially from the anchoring portion, the body portion having a plurality of body cells; and a polymeric cover disposed on at least a portion of the expandable framework. The anchoring portion includes a first transverse flange and a second transverse flange proximate the first transverse flange, the first and second transverse flanges being configured to secure the anchoring portion at an orifice of a body lumen. The body portion includes a window through a side of the body portion, the window occupying space equivalent to at least two of the plurality of body cells. The window is devoid of the polymeric cover and any other structure within a perimeter of the window.

Abstract: An implantable treatment device configured to facilitate removal thereof after tissue ingrowth into a portion thereof, such as into an enlarged region with a diameter greater than adjacent regions. A liner is positioned within a lumen of the treatment device, with a portion spaced from the enlarged region of the treatment device. A disruption zone in the liner facilitates controlled disruption of the liner's integrity to permit a portion of a removal device inserted within the liner to extend through the liner to interact with the treatment device. The treatment device may be part of a treatment system including a removal device with an enlarged region corresponding to the treatment device enlarged region. A method of treatment involves rupturing a rupture zone in a treatment device liner to allow a portion of a removal device to extend through the liner and into engagement with a portion of the treatment device.
