Abstract:
Methods and apparatus to determine audience viewing of video-on-demand programs are disclosed. An example method disclosed herein comprises creating a reference database corresponding to a set of VOD programs, determining whether a VOD program is selected at a subscriber site, extracting at least one identifier from a signal carrying the VOD program, and cross-referencing the at least one identifier with the reference database.
Abstract:
The present invention includes systems and methods for customization of internet applications. Multiple levels of customization are applied to both static and functional aspects of user interface elements including, for example, tab-order, tab-over, immediate access keys, and hotkeys. Customization is also achieved with respect to searching over multiple user interfaces, presentation of information on a user interface, and the interaction model used by the internet application. Customization is enabled on any client supporting standard browser functionality.
Abstract:
A therapeutic foam for the treatment of, inter alia, varicose veins comprises a sclerosing solution foamed with a physiological gas such as carbon dioxide, oxygen or a mixture thereof. The foam has a nitrogen content of less than 0.8%. It may be generated using a pressurised canister system incorporating a fine mesh of micron dimensions through which the gas and sclerosing liquid are passed to make the foam. Alternatively, the foam may be generated by passing gas and solution between two syringes through a fine mesh. Techniques are described for minimising the amount of nitrogen in a canister or syringe based product. A technique for generating and delivering foam simultaneously using a syringe based device is also disclosed.
Abstract:
An improved key matrix scanning technique conducts a first pre-scan on a first array of connections in a key matrix to identify any activated keys or buttons associated with the first array. A second sub-scan is conducted on a second array of connections in the key matrix but only for the connections in the first array that are detected as having activated keys.
Abstract:
Cognitive assessment systems and methods that provide an integrated solution for evaluating the presence or absence of cognitive impairment. The present invention is used to test cognitive functions of an individual including information processing speed, working memory, work list learning and recall, along with variations of these tasks. Immersive and non-immersive systems and methods are disclosed. Testing and results feedback using the present invention may be completed in real time, typically in less than 15 minutes.

Abstract:
Heat and light is generated and applied to the skin of a user with multiple arrays of light emitting devices. The amount of heat and light energy delivered from each array is separately controlled relative to a predetermined dose of light energy and a temperature of the skin adjacent to each array. The arrays may be flexibly connected to conform to the contours of a significant area the user's anatomy.
Abstract:
Present application discloses a device for generating and dispensing a foam for therapeutic use comprising a) a housing, b) a first chamber with gas at a substantially atmospheric pressure, a second chamber with at least one sclerosant agent c) an outlet for dispensing gas and the solution in the form of a foam d) the flow path for mixing the gas and the solution e) a foaming unit.
Abstract:
A method of regulating gear shifts of a transmission driven by an engine includes calculating a first torque error and calculating a second torque error. A compensation torque is determined based on the first torque error and the second torque error. The gear shifts are regulated based on the compensation torque.
Abstract:
A method for deploying an additional document classifier engine into an existing document processing system that includes the steps of adding a new document classifier engine to an existing single or pool of document classifier engines and training the new document classifier engine on previously misclassified documents.
