A GPS receive can be used to automatically switch the system between the modes, dependent upon the vehicle position. An improved method of operating a touch screen on a CRT or ICD computer screen uses finger release as input registering, and also may use highlighting of a button being selected with an enlarged button area for any highlighted button. Mounting arrangements for mounting computer screens or monitors are also disclosed for mounting between a transparent table top in e.g. a lounge area, and for mounting in seatbacks of airplane or other vehicle seats.

    摘要: Optical mirror coatings are used for high-temperature diffusion barriers and mirror shaping. Certain materials for use as high-temperature diffusion barriers under optical mirror coatings include metals that have high melting and/or boiling points and amorphous and partially recrystallized inorganic amorphous materials that have high glass transition temperatures (Tg). Candidate metals are selected based upon the boiling point or a combination of melting point and boiling point. Candidate amorphous and partially recrystallized inorganic amorphous materials are selected based upon the glass transition temperature. Optical mirrors having such high-temperature diffusion barriers maintain reflectivity when exposed to elevated temperatures, and are particularly useful in optical Micro Electro-Mechanical Systems (MEMS) that are exposed to high-temperature manufacturing processes. Optical mirrors are shaped using tensile and/or compressive films.

    摘要: The magnetic socket holder according to the present invention includes a plurality magnets and associated posts which are adapted to receive sockets of varying sizes. The invention provides ready access to each socket and allows easy one handed removal and replacement of sockets. The magnetic socket holder includes a base having a series of recesses and magnets disposed in each of the recesses. Each of the magnets is provided with an associated post which is adapted to be receive within a socket. The posts and the magnets are preferably mounted to the base by a rivet. The magnets create a magnetic field which is sufficient to retain the sockets on the posts. While the combination of all the magnets provides a magnetic field which is sufficient to retain the socket holder and attached sockets on a support surface.

A sealing element may be placed into the perforation. The perforation may comprise a hole, into which first and second countersinks may be formed. The sealing element may be placed into the first countersink, and the plug may be placed through the countersinks and the hole, such that the plug's body fills the hole and the plug's head fits within the second countersink.

    摘要: A control system for a SWATH type vessel has control fins mounted on the pontoons of the vessel to improve seakeeping. The control system includes roll angle and pitch angle sensors, and can include roll rate and pitch rate sensors or calculations for developing damping signals, with all the signals used to control the control fins to counteract roll and pitch. In addition, individual accelerometers are provided mounted to the vessel in a sufficient number and at sufficently diverse locations to sense vertical acceleration of the vessel, and vertical acceleration signals are used to control the control fins to provide improved control of roll and pitch, and also to counteract any heave or vertical movement of the vessel. Additionally, draft sensors are provided mounted to the vessel to generate draft or depth of immersion signals. These signals override the roll, pitch and heave signals to cause vertical movement of the vessel to counteract incipient slamming or broaching of the vessel. If desired, a predetermined threshold for draft discrepancies can be provided before any such overriding control is initiated.

    摘要: A radio frequency (RF) base station transmitter receiver (transceiver) system includes an audio compression arrangement that compresses a sum of multiple audio signals so that all signals within the sum are equalized to a substantially uniform audio output level despite differences in their input levels. Compression thresholds can be adjusted from a remote location. The RF base station provides audio signal compression using digital signal processing (DSP) techniques such that advanced features (e.g., noise blanking and hard limiting) and flexibility are built into the system. Line audio inputs from several sources are filtered, converted to digital signals, and processed by a digital signal processor (DSP). This DSP provides an audio compression function that selects and applies appropriate gains to the digitized audio signal. The compressed signal is converted to analog form, filtered and routed to a variety of destination such as a RF transmitter modulator or a land line.
